In 2006 Grinspeed was established by Stephen Brindle to provide motorsport services to a number of front line rally and race teams.
As well as working with these teams Stephen worked with a number of Japanese performance and tuning centres. This is where his passion for Japanese road and race cars began.
Stephen carried on with this until he decided to start his own company. In 2007 Stephen was approached by a small privateer team, namely 888 Solutions, to run a JAS Motorsport EP3 Civic in the Britcar Championship. Stephen accepted the challenge and ran the car from his workshop in Leyland, Lancashire. The car ran faultlessly all year, winning Class 3 outright and missing out on the overall Britcar Championship by a single point.
At the end of this season, Stephen decided to open his workshop to the fast road and track day market which is where he is today, establishing himself and Grinspeed as one of the premier Japanese tuning companies in the North West.
Stephen prides himself on his appearance, so the workshop although small is kept immaculately clean and tidy. Being small allows Grinspeed to give you a personal service on a one to one basis with the level of customer support you would expect and deserve.
