ooo look at you with bling arches.. awesome.

Here is a pic of mine on full lock while on stands...

obviously with the weight of the car on the hubs they are even tighter....and I think the fixing point on the buddyclubs is higher than the bc racing or oem strut.

they look very similar length wise to each other tbh, not sure what you mean by the fixing point as they both appear to be fixed between the two big bolts?

maybe you're right but it looks to be attached higher on the buddyclub...Either way, mine definitely looks shorter than yours. Not sure though, I've not had a proper look at it on the car yet, just these pics.

the bracket is only thin and can be bent mate, but i think it isn't fixed to the strut?

i get the feeling that it's the length of the hose that is causing these issues for people, like i say, mine have been on for at least 5k and look brand new.

might be worth someone finding out if HEL have changed the design recently, because i didn't buy mine long after yours dude?

i feel a re-call coming on

Yeah it's fixed to the strut dude...welded in fact.

Will find out once stevie and mark have taken a look next week...will have some answers then.

But yes, maybe there are some shorter hoses out there, factory mistake etc...no idea.

cool, that's the only thing i can think of, maybe the originals were the same length as the OEM and then they made them an inch longer or something...

it's really quite scary as it's the sort of thing that could easily cause the death of quite a large number of people.

i know we are only a small corner of the internet but it doesn't feel as though enough is being done about this imho.

Well there's no-one here to do anything about it mate...the manufacturer is not an approachable entity on this forum. I will endeavour to bring some answers..via the expert opinion of eightspeed..

I'm leaning toward different lengths tbh...but for all I know it could be the buddyclubs to blame..

ah, don't know why only some do it...just caught lou's post, must have missed it before.
Lou Connor wrote:The problem is, there is no way of stopping the lines from pulling through the mounting bracket on the hub. They are allowed to slde through the gap, which seems like a good idea, but when on full lock, the line can get stuck on the braket rather than pull through, and then put strain on the fittings.
They are designed to slide through the mounting bracket but it appears they don't slide back or something...only some do it apparently. I will have a look tomorrow and see if I have abundant amounts of slack the caliper side of the mounting bracket. Might explain why mine look so much shorter.

my hoses are 52cm (give or take 1cm) long from the connector to the connector (so just the exposed braided bit)

and they look like this on full lock:

Just thought I'd add my recent experience to the thread.

Purchased some HEL hoses last thursday (along with some DS2500 pads :-D )
Anyways the hoses were delivered on Friday and the car was booked in for everything fitted on tusday. When I opened the hoses on friday they looked second hand and had definately been fitted to another car. I was abit miffed so sent them an email, I was also advised by the garage not to fit them as they had been on another car for sometime and had a flat spot and a nasty bend at the end near the fitting.

They replied and said there had been a mistake and they had accidently been put back on the shelf and dispatched to me and that they'd get a new set sent out ASAP

I told the garage I'd have them tuesday and they could take the car and as soon as I had the hoses I'd bring them down.
I've waited untill today for them to be delivered, so took them down this morn to garage.
I get a phonecall this afternoon to say the front hoses are too short and on full-lock the ends are being pulled out :bad-words:

The fronts are the same length as the rears which doesn't seem right to me?

When I got the first set I wondered then why would they have been returned, I'm wondering if they had also been returned as they were too short?

I'm pretty gutted and I'm thinking about getting Goodridge instead as I don't want to wait for another set to find that their wrong as well

Just thought I'd add my 2pence worth
