Same here matey - £128 sounds a bit of a bargain for a pair of 205s

The only problem I forsee is that it is not the recommended factory speed rating so if you have a mishap which is tyre related, the insurance company may refuse a payout...irrespective of whether you are going at 50mph or 150mph.

You won't find prices on Toyo's website but you will find them at http://www.topgear.co.uk :D Try the Toyo website for your local dealer to see if you can get them any cheaper locally. Remember you still have to add on fitting and balancing to the Top Gear prices (unless you're near one of their branches).

I have just had some Goodyear F1 fitted to the car all round and took the two good rear potenzas off and left them in the garage as i did not want to mix them.
215/45/17" is the size ive had fitted and they feel ok on the car at the moment but only done about 20 miles.

ok, guys. Had the Feds on for a week now and am finding them to be excellent.

Cant really rember what they are like compared to the bridgestone originals as I have had Yokohama after them, but I remeber that the Yokohama's are a lot better than the bridgestones in all weather conditions and the Feds are comparable to the Yok's, so good news.

The Feds are nearly as good as the Yok's I would say with only a little bit less turn in, probably due to a softer tyre wall, although I havent had them in the wet yet.

All I can say is that for just over £50 these are a real bargain and I will be getting them again, tread pattern is also v. nice too.

Well done to Evo Stu for finding these.

So i'm now sold on getting 4 new Fed's....question is where is the best price (topgear.co.uk?) and how much should i be paying for fitting ? (inc balancing/valving of course).
I live nearish to Burnley and they have a depot but do these places only supply the tyres, they dont have a fitting service so they?

I think the all the Top Gear sites can fit them as well mate.

The Feds are far and away cheaper at Top Gear.

It depends on where you go mate.

If that includes the valves, fitting and balancing then it's a great deal.

I've had my feds on since saturday and are finding them great, they seem better then the BS's but that may be due to them being slick when i changed them, but my first impressions are good a will definately be buying them again, you can't get a better tyre for the money and i think spending double you would struggle to find something noticely better. Nice one federal!
By the way i paid £59 each and only £5 per wheel for fitting valves and balancing, this was from Topgear in St Albans, but the price for fitting was given by their headoffice so that must be their standard charge. Also the guy who fitted them took the upmost care in fitting them and they even torqued up the wheel nuts (unlike Kwik fit who use the longest bar and stand on the end).

I went to Top Gear today to fit my federals, £135 all in for 2. Looks quite nice and first impressions seem to be quite good. My old goodyears were utter shite and only lasted about 5-6k...

It rained briefly where i was today and found the tyres to be excellent miles better then the standard BS's. In the dry they also are great.

Good thread. :!:

For those considering TOYOs I'll just add that mine have been on the car 3 months and have been superb. Loads better than the Potenzas especially in the wet - around Donington they were excellent but needed resting after several hard laps - the edges started to melt.

I'll be buying some more soon. These have lasted 4000 miles and are my 4th set in 12 months but at 70 quid a go its no thing to worry about. 8)
