Finally got it back.

Feels a bit better. I'll have to see how it is in a few days when its all bedded in.

Felt strange driving it after nearly a week on a Jazz.

Sounds like there ins't a full proof fix for this then - sort out 2nd, and 5th suffers... Maybe I'll wait to book mine in and see if Honda can suss it.

TBH though, 3 out of my 4 cars have had issues with changing into second so before this thread I'd just accepted it as normal on the CTR.

My gearchange seems marginally better but not perfect.

Ok when hot, but then it always has been.

One thing I have noticed is that engine seems to idle rougher than b4.

I dont know if this is because I've been used to driving a Jazz for a week or if the clutch isnt as balanced as it was before.

Canr really say as I'm not sure what they have to take out to get at the gearbox.

Will see how it goes, if it gets no worse I'll mention it when it goes in for service. Otherwise I'll be back to dealer.

They change the synchros in all the gears..

Having had the 1st to 2nd gear fix carried out, mine is going back in tomorrow for the dealer to check on the new issue which has reared it's head, that being a stiff shift between 5th & 6th. It is intermittent though so I will see what they have to say....here we go again!

My engine seems to be idling rougher than it used to. After having the fix.

Any ideas what this could be?

Had my CTR serviced today, I too has been suffering the 2nd gear problem when cold. When I mentioned it to the guy on reception, he knew about the technical bulletin and was very knowledgeable. He went through with me about the fix.
When I picked up the car, they said they will do it under warranty (I knew this anyway from when I dropped the car off) and they will need the car for the full day, as it will take a technician most the day to do.

Finally got my car back today after the Honda dealer finally agreed that there was a problem. I pointed it out to them in January after I noticed the posts on here. They said they'd have a look at it during my service and when I picked it up they said the gear selector would need changing.

So a week later the car was back in for a new gear stick, got it back the next day still had the problem. I took it back again to them told them it was no better and they said they would need to get in in for a couple of days so in it went again leaving me with no car!

Got the car back and told they couldn't find a problem, I said I wasn't happy with that and arranging a test drive with a mechanic to point out the problem. Went back, and went out with the mechanic and he agreed there was a problem and they would need it for 4-5 days. Booked it in dropped the car off and 8 days later I get the car back. It seems alright for now, but what a pain in the ar$£ to get it sorted. Even a mechanic knew about the fix when I took it for a service because I asked about it.

I went to collect mine from the dealer who was checking the issue of 5th to 6th now being a problem after the 1st to 2nd fix was carried out. The dealer said that they could not find a problem, I have to say it is intermittent but means that the gear change will pause momentarily before it drops into sixth. It is noticeable and very annoying, it feels kind of like a lip stopping it from going into gear without a bit of extra pressure being applied.

Incidentally the bulletin relating to the 1st/2nd gear fault is HUK (loads of zero's then 496 or 469) I did manage to see it and it affects certain chassis numbers apparently. Hope this helps.
