sorry i don't. might be worth mentioning it to a dealer. might be the same type of fix available.

Hi

people are mentioning on here about gearbox problems, mine is difficult when changing from 1st to second when cold is this same for the rest of you. mines an 02 plate.

Makes you wonder why these things dont get fixed on servicing doesnt it?

Exactly what are the dealers doing to fix the gears, does any one know.

Are they just removing the burrs, sharp edges from the cogs or what????

My car is going in 10.1.2005 for this same problem.

They told me that they will change all the syncros!

anyway, they are going to fit my LSD at the same time...

Oh yeah, they also told me that there is coming a new fix for the steering
rack, so they won't change it yet.

My car has done 50.000km and I'm now on my 3rd steering rack and
it is making the same noise as the other two made before they got changed.

Mines going in for second gear fix next week.

I'm sure the service guy mentioned replacing synchros on 1st and 2nd though. This is despite me telling him there was a bulletin that tell them to replace synchros on 5th and 6th.

He may have been mistaken as it wasn't the technician I was talking to.

Just hope they sort it. If not, it'll have to go back again.

just took mine in to springfield honda sunderland.

explained to the service guy the problem with 2nd gear when cold. he said he will get someone to take it out for a check. so i said that you wont find anything now because I like to lick cows udders and the car has been running a while now, and that they would have to wait til the next morning to be able to feel the stiff notchiness of the 2nd gear. the guy said they havent had any in with that problem. fine. so i explained that this seemed to be a wide scale problem from reading a lot of ppl comments on this forum. straight away, he seemed quite defensive, and said that they have been "told" by honda that they do dont have anything (stressed the anything) to do with the forum.

what im trying to say is that although they will check my car out tmr morning as they should....the service guy seemed very determined not to acknowledge and believe what has been pointed out in this forum as a common problem with the gearbox. also, he said that they have not received any honda bulletins regarding this problem. he also pointed out that their branch sold the most ctrs in the north east, without once receiving any complaints about the 2nd gear problem :? during the whole conversation b4 they gave me my courtesy car, he just wanted to push aside what i was trying to explain to him and what has been said on this forum. not a very good listener at all!

well theyve got my car there now, and hopefully the mechanic will find that my 2nd gear is notchy in the morning...and await to see what they will do about it. all in all not too happy with my first visit to the sunderland branch :(

You should have got him to log onto the forum so you could show him how many people suffer from this - how annoying

I've been meaning to take it in for a while to get this and the suspensions knocking noise fixed (despite new rack and shocks already fitted) but have been waiting for the car to get really dirty so the free valet isn't wasted

I'll bell them in the morning.

There is definately a bulletin for it.

Got the call today to say the parts are in. Going in on Friday to be fixed. Hopefully.

They were quite happy to have it in overnight so that they could drive it when cold in the morning.

he did ask me for the forum address after i explained the only reason i drove an extra 10 miles instead going to my local dealer, was because of this forum...and the number of ppl recommending his branch :D lets hope they actually do logon and see how this forum can probably help them sort out more problems ;)

the gateshead springfield branch asked me to sign up for him the time i took my ctr in to get the windscreen rubber whirlying noise sorted. told him found out from this forum, and he asked me for address straight away :D

also showed him the acura rsx bulletin printout too. at first he said its got nothing to do with them :? then eventually he did ask for it to show his service manager....sigh

If there is definitely a bulletin for this problem, surely someone must have the Honda reference for it?

My local dealer is always very defensive when I mention the forum too - I don't understand why Honda can't embrace it and use it to their advantage. It's enthusiastic people like us who spread experience of good service encounters like wildfire to our friends and colleagues; to not use us as at least like a free focus group seems like such a waste.
