ok...thanks for that...i must be one of the lucky ones... to be honest, i always use second gear from pulling away, never really use first except on santa pod or getting away from chav boys

David, I agree with the chav comments and also know this car can pull away in second no probs, not sure I would do it all the time though, will that not wear your clutch quicker as there will be a little more slip required than first?

I know what you mean about clutch wear, but I don't think i slip it anymore than first... i tend to see first as almost half a gear. but then i tend to talk b*llocks as well

Spoke to my dealer about the "2nd gear fix.. He said "what fix".

Has anybody got any real details on it so I can go back armed to the teeth??

That must be a load of bull mate. The car has a 3 year warranty which Honda must honour.

It'll be a warranty issue mate so will be fixed under warranty, as soon as i get another JDM LSD over then mine wil be going to have the 2nd gear done and the LSD at the same time 8)

i asked de fries honda about it in york and they didnt seem to know about the fault ,there doing my headlight adjuster on the right hand side on monday and said they would have a look at the second gear problem


has any of you lot got the official bullitin to print off and show them?

You could always get them to ring Grantham Honda as they are aware of the "fix".

ive spoke to someone at honda today and he said yes theres a fix it will alter the gear ratio slightly to improve 2 but you might then find the prob will move to 6th

will this involve taking the gearbox out ? might b worth thinking l.s.d umm...

Can you get some info on the problem in detail from your dealer because it is a very grey area fo most of us. I know my dealer dosen't admit there is a problem yet.

They didn't know there where any problems, they just said that they would take a look and fix any problems under the warrently

mines in today getting fixed fingers crossed #

just picked it up said had to strip the gearbox and replace 5th and 6th which was causing the prob .....

big test is 2mo morning dam should of slipped him a £10'r to fit me an lsd

I've had the new gearbox fix for just over a week now and it seems to be ok. The shift from 1st to 2nd is a lot smoother now, even when the 'box is cold! Hopefully it's a long term fix this time.
