I've got SuperPro polybushes all round on mine, including castor increase kit. I can't say it's too bad in terms of vibration, infact there's next to no vibration what so ever. Car feels a lot tighter. There's never any harm in replacing old tired bushes 8-)

brilliant! that was the make I was looking at, did you do it yourself?, did the caster increase make it any better?

The castor increase bushes, gives a bit more steering feel, and makes the steering feel quite a bit heavier ( to me anyway ), not heavy as in no powersteering, but heavy as in it takes away some of that electric steering feel.

I did the front wishbones myself, but the rear hub I got a mate with a press to do for me as it's a lot quicker process

I got to say though, I'm not the biggest fan of the SuperPro grease, I would say to try get hold of some Energy Suspension OR powerflex grease if you can, seems much more sticky and longer lasting, ie better suited to the job ;)

Increasing the castor gives you dynamic camber. So as you turn, the outer wheel gains negative camber and the inner wheel gains positive camber. Improving corner handling. It does make the steering a little heavier but I found that it also made the feel better.

I've polybushed the car with energy suspension polybushes, they don't increase castor but make the car nice and tight. I have a dc5 steering rack on mine so it's got plenty of feel and its heavy enough already. Also worth doing is getting your subframe removed and re-attached with a rigid collar kit, this prevents the subframe moving relative to the chassis, hence giving you more consistent geometry and better front end feel.

Ok I think I'm going go with that then superpro with caster increase, I'll try get some different grease, how did you get the old bushes out of the wishbones? I might just get a press if there not that expensive, do you know what ton of pressure would do the trick?
Thanks for the replys everyone

There's a couple of ways to do it. I drilled out the bush itself, then got a hacksaw and cut 3 slots through the metal sleeve to weaken it, then bend it with a prybar. Or set fire to them lol.
A hint for the front wishbone rear bush though, if you're going to press it out, you'll need to grind down the lip as it won't fit in a press otherwise. You'll see what I mean if you look at a set of wishbones or when you get them off the car.

You would probably need at least a 10 ton press, I'm sure my mate said it took 7 tonne to get one of my bushes out. Failing that, remove the wishbones and rear hubs and take them to a local garage or something and get them to do it, a lot easier, quicker and cheaper than buying your own press.

Ok cool, I'll see how much a garage would charge to pop them out, so when I have them out do I need a press to push any of the new poly bushes in?

You'll need a press to fit the castor bush, you may well be able to get some heat on the wishbone and freeze the bush to get it to slot in, but it's just as easy to get them pressed in.

I probably wouldn't pay anymore than £40 to get a set of bushes pressed out, and a couple pressed in. Some of the SuperPro bushes come as 2-piece so their easy enough to just push in by yourself and don't require the use of a press.

Sweet, got the Meyle HD ones on mine. Much better design than the OEM style ones with the hex that always rounds off

Hi Adam, I've done the front and I'm about to start the rear, was wondering what you did about 2 of the bushes which I didn't get in the kit I bought nor can I find them anywhere, the rear lower front control arm bush that connects to the body, and the upper inner control arm Bush I'll upload some pics or links of the standard ones, surely they must do them

Ryan,
Here is the part numbers of the bushes I used (rear only):
SPF2310K - Control arm upper outer bush
SPF3195K - Control arm lower outer bush

This will probably help you out and understand better.

I never used any other bushes at the rear because I had aftermarket lower control arms ( the ones that connect from axle to subframe) they have their own polybushes, camber adjustable upper arms, and aftermarket roll bar.
Note SuperPro don't list the trailing arm bushes.

I've rang up super pro to find out and they don't do the 2 that I mentioned because in his words the oems would do a better job! So I'm going leave them as they are and change the rest on the rears some point next week
