No it isn't really. Neither is £1500 for 10bhp. In hindsight I should of just left it as it was to begin with, or splashed out with these parts to begin with. Lessons learned and in the future I'll do things differently.
After this map it's not getting anymore engine work. Unless a supercharger kit comes up at a steal, but that's unlikely.

Like if I had 255bhp and tdi cams took me to near 270 I'd say it's worth it [emoji4]
JRSCs seem to be up in value these days due to the demand amirite? Seems they're worth closer to £1800+ when they used to sell for £1500?

Even at £1500 I think it's a little steep. A kit a few weeks back that had everything you needed except ECU went for nearly £1600. I was willing to pay no more than say £1200

It could possibly be the first EP3 with them. As and when they come in, I'll give a fairly detailed review. Hopefully get a track day booked/Nürburgring trip organised and put them through a proper test. At double the price of their Zeta-R I'm hoping for a very good quality product.
I discussed spring rates with them and have stuck with what I've already got which is 8kg front and 12kg rear. Reason is that I'll have more adjustability in that range and according to them should be able to cope with running semi slick tyres with them rates. Yet be comfortable enough for some road use when wound down onto soft.

I might of missed it. What tyres were you running on your 8 min 45 Nordschleife lap mate?

Just Bridgestone RE050a tyres. I was doing 2 laps at a time and second lap round they were starting to go off a little.
I may possibly get some Evo or similar wheels and run a semi slick for summer and track days. I'd like to think with some semi slicks I could do a sub 8:30 BTG with minimal traffic.

That's a decent time with traffic and RE050s'. A sub 8 min 30 will be easily achievable for you with a decent semi slick and minimal traffic.

Cheers! Maybe if I lose my tubby passenger (over 14 stone, fat chap) I might shave a few more seconds off

No doubt! Relative lack of power on the CTR and an extra 100kg make a huge difference all the way up the hill from ex-muhle to the Karussell. When are you going back? This year?

Going to try and get back this year. Looking like either the first weekend of August or the August bank holiday. I'd rather avoid the bank hol as it gets busy with many Brits that love to crash and close the track. Also I'm struggling to find someone to go with.

I looked at the bank holiday and all the hotels/B&Bs are all packed. I'm going in September now.

Cam swap done this morning. Relatively easy to do and yes swapping the cams only takes 15mins like the Skunk2 video. What takes longer is setting the tappets and cleaning the Hondabond on the tensioner cover
Few pictures, nothing that interesting.

valve train work scares the crap out of me though always steer away from it
I deal with cam belts/chains on a daily basis so it's no sweat for me. Although a little nervous Fergus doing this as if the chain falls off or you don't lock the tensioner up properly you'll have to strip the timing chain cover down.

Email from Edwin at MeisterR informing me that the Coilovers are currently being built and should be ready this week. I've got a busy weekend with mapping on Saturday and Goodwood FOS on Sunday but hoping to find some time to get them fitted.

Lewis I don't normally read a lot of these threads but I've read yours from start to finish, a real good read and a spot on set up in an ep3. Just watching your lap of the ring I was blown away with how grippy on the re050 the vtr was. That's Somme real good set up you got there. Is it the same now as on page 1 updated.. I've just bought another ep3 as I had one many years back which was running similar engine mods to you but I never focused on a real good handling set up.
Years on I'm just going for handling, I'm looking at the yellow speed race coilovers what they run in the civic cup.
What are your thoughts on them?

Great thread, great car

Ps forget the M3 if you were goin to change, get an evo, I have a real clean VI which rarely come out to play... It's a monster!..

Thanks for the comments. I spent a lot of time making small adjustments here and there to the suspension getting it to handle how I want it. You're not the first to comment on how well it handles just on road tyres.
The car is basically the same as the list on the first page. I think 1 or 2 bits may need changing in the near future as new bits are still going on.
I can't really comment on the Yellow Speed coilovers as I've never used them. But some people on here use them and approve. As mentioned a few also use the set up in the civic cup (changing the rear spring to 16kg).
Haha everyone is against the M3 idea. I watched a video recently of someone in an E46 M3 doing BTG in 7.45. That's a whole 1 min quicker than my time. Maybe I'll push on with the Civic and see if I can get close to an 8 min BTG.... plus some driver tuition for more talent needed!
