The Nürburgring trip was epic! In total I managed 13 laps that weekend. Very busy at times and plenty of cars crashing causing closures (majority on UK plates) which was annoying at times.
Car was a joy to drive. Performed so well. Although next time I'm going to jack the ride height up a little. Even with the coilovers set on hard I was bottoming out. I dread to think what the exhaust and front arch liners look like!
Brakes handled very well. Although I've got some pad pick up of some sort and they don't sound too healthy. Bouncing over the kerbs may of knocked the wheel alignment out a little as the steering wheel is on the piss slightly.

My best time was an 8.45 with only a little traffic. A massive 47sec quicker than last time. Although I'm putting most of that down to me growing a pair rather than the cars performance. Full video will be up soon and a few other clips from other laps.

Nice lap and really nice camera view :-D. You looked fast and smooth, what amazed me was the approach to foxhole you were doing 145 mph in 5th lol, like 9000 rpm?

Thanks. Seems to be a style I've got that I'm smooth and I don't seem to saw at the wheel. Yep that was pretty much flat out in 5th. Also the run up to the karussell I hold it on the limiter in 3rd for a brief second as there's no point changing up to immediately change back down.

Yup thats a quick time round there in a civic no doubt, and you were held up in traffic for probably 10 seconds. I've only seen two guys go quicker and they had much more heavily modified civics and no passengers [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]

My car tops out at 120 mph in 5th, id be lucky to do 145 in 6th

The traffic is part of the challenge. A totally traffic free lap I'd probably be around the 8.30 mark but it's almost impossible to achieve it. Next time I might book onto a track day as there's less cars, more controlled plus you can do multiple laps without stopping. Although 2 laps at a time is plenty enough, I'm normally sweating after 2 laps
It's a track you needs some legs on the car. I should think if you're geared to around 150-160mph it's about right unless you're pushing big big power.

Thanks. The back end was always a little light on the first few bends but once there's some heat into the tyres there wasn't much drama.

Yea looks like one of them queer stance look cars with the wheel tuck going on. It needs stiffer springs and the height just raised around 10mm. Tempted to try some of these Yellowspeed track spec or do the trade in deal with MeisterR for their gt1 or whatever their better spec coilover is.

New air intake. Hopefully cure my lack of power.

Lovely piece of kit. Moulding of the air filter inside incorporates a velocity stack. Looks good in wrinkle red. Hopefully get a spare hour or 2 this weekend to stick it on and report back. Then back to TDI North for a quick tweak.
