Right so I finally got round to fitting my coilovers today..

Only took a few pictures really..

So all fitted up and... horrendous! steering is to pot and the rear top mounts have become really noisy so Im going to try and get booked in tomorrow for a geometry setup. The ride felt really good, not crashy or harsh. Really there isnt much difference in ride comfort from stock but Ive only driven it 5 miles home from where I fitted them up. Fingers crossed I can get in somehwere tomorrow because I will not be using it otherwise :(

It will just need the geometry doing mate. Will be fine once this is done.

Quite surprised its a similar ride to stock.

Looking good :bigthumb:

Getting it done tomorrow fingers crossed. Going to a guy called James at rpm automotive. Just google him. It's in Birkenhead so just up the road from me as I don't want to drive far the way it is right now. He's had plenty of experience in race and track prep so should be good

Just paid for a k100 from howey82! Hopefully once everything turns up I can begin building. In the meantime with nothing else better to do with the car I decided to detail her....... Until the water I was spraying on the panels for the compound began to freeze. May wait a couple of months to finish her.

Oh and a few pictures of the car car with its cousin, the atr belongs to my brother. I have driven it a few times and can't help but feel a bit envious each time I get back in mine. Drives so well, awesome grip and handling

Geometry all sorted for the time being. I went for a quite conservative set up to start with to see what I wanted from it. Just over 1 degree of camber and toe set to zero all round. The ride height drop is minimal at the moment but the body roll is very small anyway. I might drop it maybe another 10-15 mm in the next week or so once I've established what I want from the rest of the geometry. Feeling very good and very planted but really can't stop it wheel spinning pulling out of junctions. I guess that's down to the reduced energy transfer due to the harder springs and dampers.

Christmas has come early for me today!

So exhaust manifold and de cat downpipe. Rbc and heat resistant gaskets and adaptor plate. Just waiting on my tegiwa m and k100 to complete. Should have them both early next week. :WOOT

once its all mapped up with the race header and rbc on it will be a bit of a weapon,

they go very well when tuned properly with the right bolt on's..................

loving what your doing to your car by the way,

that red ATR looks really nice in red..............they come with a factory fitted lsd so can imagine them being awesome on the twisties [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]

Just a quick uPdate. My tegiwa m arrived a couple of days ago so took the time to fit it today. The kit could really do with an instruction sheet but thanks to my bro in law we got it in just right. Looks pretty cool in the bay and sounds the business too. Ill get some pictures up in the next day or so for those who are interested

I havent updated this for a while so heres whats been going on..

Tegiwa 'M' fitted,

The whole process to fit took around an hour and a half and was pretty straight forward to do, although they should at least supply some instructions, even just basic ones. For the cost of the system I would definitely expect a couple of pieces of paper in the box.
Happy with the result I suppose. The sound is great especially over 6k. I had previously had a Hondata modified oem airbox fitted before the Tegiwa and to be completely honest I'm really not sure that the car pulls any better than it did with the oem box fitted. A dyno print out will show the truth there I suppose...

An update regarding my chassis tuning.

This area of the build is really beginning to test me if i'm honest,

So I have fitted my coilovers, camber arms and bolts, had a full geo set up on it and..... it feels rubbish,

Steering is inconsistent, the wheels at the front almost feel like they are tucking under when a decent amount of lock is provided at speed, Diabolical in the wet and just all round poor drive.

Spoke to the guy who tuned it for me and he is in agreement that the steering arms are at a too acute angle, so I have ordered a steering arm relocation bracket, which I am hoping arrives sharpish before I park the car up and use the bus.

I am hoping to sort myself some buddy club RCA's too before the car goes back in for a third alignment session also. Although I am not getting any body roll to speak of, the RCa's will help to put the arms back to a more stock angle.

I really hope that these parts sort the car out or I may be tempted to strip it all back and go with a set of springs alone. I'm sure with some more time and effort she should handle pretty well....
