Yea there is meant to be a length of rubber that can be attached over the top of that to give it protection.

Going to try and fit mine this afternoon.

Image

the two silver L brackets. One of them goes on the top left bolt of the airbox to hold it down onto the car (as per blunty's pic below)

Image

But where does the 2nd one go? On your pics you've got it attached on the left had side of the heatshield, put yours appears to be a straight L bracket (pic below), mine is slanted?

Image

How do I get mine to fit the heatshield?

Flip no idea mate, is it a new kit or 2nd hand? The GMs have the same long black L shape to attach the heatshield. I can't see how you slanted one would ever work.

On another note the heatshield IMO isn't massively important. I mean the whole bay gets warm, the heat isn't going arrive at the shield turn around and go away

Hmm. Strange!

Might try just attaching the heat shield with only the bolt on the right hand side. If it rattles or pisses me off I'll just fit it without the heatshield.

The L shaped breather hose connects to the bottom of the airbox right?

Everything seems straight forward. Hopefully will be when it comes to fitting

Didnt have time to fit this afternoon. Just tried now when I got home, it's not finished yet! a few questions matey..

Image

firstly what bolt do I need to put in there? None of the ones from the OEM box fit there. where can I get the right sized one from? Also is this the only bolt that will be holding the intake onto the car? wont the intake move around over speed bumps etc with that being the only bolt holding it?

Secondly, i couldnt find anyway of fitting the heatshield with the bent L bracket so I dont think I'll be fitting the heatshield.

Next, I couldnt get the metal connection hose out from the OEM intake pipe off, to put on the Tegiwa one. it's so stiff! how on earth do you remove it?

Also where can I get some of the plastic push in button things for the scuttle? snapped mine off when I took the OEM one off

Ok I'm pretty sure me and Stevo used an OEM one here, Gruppe M provide one for this. I think it's an 8 or 10 mm headed bolt, so I'm sure you'll find one no problem, just try a few and bolts aren't expensive. Yep that and the intake pipe are the only bits holding it, as you can see you need to apply some muscle to get those holes lined up so the kit doesn't move that much, but that is the reason the OEM pipe can split with the movement. It needs to be able to move with the engine. And also that's why people put Velcro or an old cut up sponge between the kit and the scuttle panel to take the banging noise away.

is that the metal bit in the photo above in the left hand side of the intake pipe? If so I used a pair of pliers and just wiggled it about. Don't use a lot of force incase you bend it.

Honestly no idea mate, try that Honda parts website. It gives photos of every part you could need, sometimes the small bits like that might only come with the purchase of a new scuttle panel. Also was the kit 2nd hand? Tegiwa do replacement parts, unsure is there are replacement bits for everything but maybe worth a phone call.

Thanks matey, not off work until thurs now so cant have another crack until then. My room is full of parts its a tip  Yeah that's the one in the pic, I'll give it a go with some pliers [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]

I'll report back on thursday if I have any more problems

was this pic after everything was completely installed? because I fit my tegiwa intake hose as far in as it would go onto the airbox and that's maybe why it sat pretty low down.

Yea that's it fully in mate. You need to get it on the TB as much as you can get it on, but as for the hose on to the kit....I'd say don't push it up as far as it'll go, in honesty I thought mine was close to coming off  but as long as that jubile clip is very tight it'll be sweet and it means, as you have seen, the kit won't sit really far down or anything. Once it's all on you can jiggle bits, tighten things up loosen them etc to get the kit sitting just right. If you have any issues just ask mate and I'll do what I can to help. But it is pretty straight forward once you do it. I fitted my Gruppe M with Jap instructions  and Stevos I just did it from memory of my kit, plus it's pretty self explanatory. Well. Gave this a go earlier on after work and I've fitted it. Used it with the OEM intake pipe though because I simply couldn't take the metal hose off it to put on the Tegiwa one, so I've ordered one from Honda. I think I've installed it correctly, the scuttle is a b-stard to put back in place, it's currently on with no push in button things so hopefully it won't fly off :-P the scuttle isn't a Simon B modded one, it's pretty poor tbh, the top of the intake hardly sits in there. No pics as it was v dark but I'll take some on Thursday on my day off and hopefully tidy it up [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]

Edit/ forgot to mention, I only had a quick 10 min blast. Omfg
