Its pretty easy in the EG/DC2 chassis. You have to remove the transmission mount (drivers side on the B/D so it ends up like a bolt in kit.

A freind of mine did the swap in his DC2 race car in 8 hours or so.

TDI-North is now a dealer of hybrid racing products, so we are looking to get some kits together

that's great news, my sister is getting an EK next month, really want to convert it next year and were considering doing most of the work ourselves... doesn't look too difficult from what i've seen/read, but you can never be sure

having you guys as a hybrid dealer will be very handy!

are the EK and EG chassis that different, as i notice that the kits seem to be developed for the EG, but can be 'easily applied to the EK' according to Hybrid.

Yes its a slightly different chassis. It depends on what mounts you use, as they mount the engine in a different position. One kit mounts the engine so that its a straight swap, the other requires the use of DC2 subframe and suspension components, a bit more work but it does sit the engine in a better position, and lines the driveshafts up alot better.

Also, Tegiwa are doing some killer deals on kswap parts, with more to come in the future no doubt :WOOT

i did not know that! got loads of reading to do between now and when she's got the money to start the conversion, want to bolt it all together ourselves, then up to TDi for mapping and suspension set-up.

did not know that Tegiwa did k-swap parts, although, tbh, i'd rather stick with hybrid racing as much as possible, even if it's more expensive.

They are doing some swap parts, not all, but the quality of the parts look top notch, and I HAVE seen them in person. Im sure they will update the site with any new products

that's crazy! i like the idea of an EG K-swap, as i really like the shape of the EG, but you get a few extra comforts on the EK!

tbh i'll probably end up buying this EK off my sister when it's done, before she kills herself  going to look at one next week, 50k miles W plate 1.4i with full service history - exciting stuff!! (although thinking about it, a W plate is an EJ  )
