Be of no illusions, if your numbers are up then the engine will hydrolock and throw a rod through the crankcase, usually.
However, there are numerous occasions where a little water is introduced, giving just a splutter, a misfire, and a bit of steam from the back.
If the engine still runs ok five seconds after the puddle, you are safe to open throttle and clear it out, it will happen almost instantly if as above, your numbers are up.
The hydroshield will help, but mainly deters the smaller amounts of water that cause no issues anyway, it will not repel a large puddle.
The actual injection of a small amount of water mist will not harm the engine, in fact it will help to densify and cool the inlet charge.
The skill is getting the puddles of the right size to keep the filter damp, but not soaked.
Actually i'm joking there, it's too dangerous, but it would sure help on a hot day...
AEM is cheap power, Gruppe M is expensive power.
Make your choice!
