Unlimited data. Not a worry. :bigthumb:

Nope. 104mb this month so far and only 174 last month. I use it quite a bit too...
(N4 with lollipop BTW)

 It's not cheap £560 for the 32g base model and all the way up to £710 for the top 128g!!!. It does look good in that blue colour

Will be either getting the S6, S6 Edge or M 9.

Which one?
I'm siding for the edge, and I don't even like Samsung or HTC - can't stand TouchWiz, Sense is a bit more sensible.

If they offered an S6 Edge as a Google Play Edition, i'd be all over it!

I agree. You can pre-load maps on Android, it's not that as easy as Here Maps. Still need to try Here Maps on my Lumia 735. I think the download for Here Maps for England and Wales was under 1Gb.

Any advice on the best (ish) sim free phone that's not the latest and greatest? Needs to fit in a stab vest pocket, existing Nexus 4 fits with room to spare ...

Best option so far seems to be the LG G3 for about £275. Ideas welcome :bigthumb:

N4
133.9 mm (5.27 in) H
68.7 mm (2.70 in) W
9.1 mm (0.36 in) D[1]

N5
137.84 mm (5.427 in) H
69.17 mm (2.723 in) W
8.59 mm (0.338 in) D

If you like the N4 then the N5 might be a good idea? Not much bigger.

I have a Nokia 720 and bought it mainly to get Here Maps, which I think is brilliant.

LG G2 because the battery life is a lot better than the G3. I bought my son a G2 and he has loaded the G3 firmware on it which gives you all the G3 extras like 4K video. If you need more than 32 GB of storage, though, the G3 would be better because it takes micro SD cards.

Samsung Alpha is a gorgeous ultra thin phone for only another £20. At 6.6mm thick it's thinner than an iPhone.
