yes please where can you get one from any early imports ?????

and if the engine bay gets that hot honda usually dont make that much of a mistake ??are the vents on the wing active if so maybe be brave and drill a few 30mm holes into wings from engine bay abit drastic i know other than that ive seen bonnet posts jacked up abit to say 1/2 inch to let air flood in but again that might spoil the look of the car

is anyone else suffering boost drop off ,does anyone know the type and brand of turbo honda use IHI,garrett,HKS ??? (o please on the last one but i doubt it )

WoodyzR wrote:Wouldn't the Eventuri induction kit with scoop solve this?

Obviously will only draw in air from the outside and not under the bonnet.
The Eventuri doesn't draw air only from the outside! The scoop and filter are not connected, there is a gap about 3 centimeters between the scoop and the filter, so it will also draw air from under the bonnet.

That will depend if the scoop Can ram a high enough volume of external cool air to overcome the hot air building up from the engine and supply the needs of the air intake (not convinced it will myself).

I guess in winter the rain and snow that will flood down the intake will make the filter nice and wet/cold and really chill the damp air being pulled in.

Nothing against the people trying to push it, but it seems like one botch trying to resolve another that intake.

I wouldn't go anywhere near it.

for the "problem" of hot air, Tegiwas bonnet is better, because with this design hot air going out from the engine bay and that is very good, (these vents are very large and dump so much heat from the engine bay).
The other the bonnet force entering the air in the engine bay, is useless... you have to let out hot air, and not let in another air.

@Akula_Type-R

I agree 100%. Hot air out, not more air in.

@sparkysp

It makes absoluty no sense to drill holes in the wing vents. There is no Joint from the engine bay to the inside wing.
The vents in the wings have no function at all. Sry. The inside wing is a closed System. The vents just look nice, not more.

Agree with what you are saying about heat dissipation but they equalise pressure above and below the wing and prevent lift at speed, so they do have a function.

Are we talking about the same "wing" :?:
I was complaining about the "Fender" and the useless vents marked on the Picture below.....
Sounds like you are talking about the wing on the back that surely gives some nice downforce.... :D

No we are talking about the same thing. It's to allow air pressure to equalise in the wheel well.

Rear wing doesn't have any vents, nor could you contemplate, even mistakenly, it aiding cooling. [emoji38]

Pretty sure it is the release literature about the front fender/wing vents.

o.k. Now that we are sure about the subject ;)

I am sorry to disappoint you. But there is no way that the vents in the wing help for anything.
First of all there are no holes in the vents to let air pass through.
And second the inside of the wing is completely closed and sealed. The will be no air stream going through. Not to the engine bay. And not to the wheel well.
Never ever. No matter how much you, I. or anyone else would want this.
I took it all apart to find the ventilation, but again, sorry. There is no such thing.
Take a torch, take your time, have a closer look.
You will came to the same result.
And I dont think that the RHD is different to the LHD in this case

A wheel arch liner does not make a seal, plus my vents have holes. Not that I want it, that's how it is and how it was made. Check again or you have a manufacturing fault.

Honda's release is at odds with what I've read, but also at odds with your observations.
The airflow is channelled through the engine bay to outlet vents above the wheels on the front quarter panels and vents at the trailing edges of the widened front wheel arches to provide cooling and ventilation for the high-output engine.

I'll keep looking.

Press seem to have been told something similar though...

Having finished cleaning the car at 8pm . My black plastic wing vents do have holes in them but unsure if there are holes behind it for air to pass through.

The mini Coope S bonnet vent used to be fake, but 10 minutes with a Dremel sorted that out. Maybe a Dremel is required behind those wing vents?

so they vents are actually working items to vent hot air out the engine bay ,i thought honda would have addressed this knowing this is a race car thinly disguised as a road car ,would love 100% conformation on his as im chipping mine to 380 hence bigger boost pressure and more heat dont really want to go nitrous and flood intercooler and engine bay with cool charge before i can very fast all the time

im guessing thats why theres a gap to let the water out when it rains heavy and not hydraulic the engine

And again. No, no and....no.

Dont believe all you read somewhere in the press. Or do you really think that the CTR on Nürburgring record lap was stock? ;)
It was not! Comparing to the Speed this guy was driving there must have been a lot of extra power. The car had no AC, no Radio, no passenger seat, but a roll Cage.
Sportauto did the supertest and did come to the same result. There was a big gap between record car and stock car time.

And the thiny holes in the vents are not for Ventilation. It because of the production. I took it apart.
You really dont think that an air volume of app. 750ltr can be sucked out through holes as big as needle Pins?!? Come on....?
And the inside wheel arch is closed. There is no way for the air to get through.

And its not a faulty production on my car. Same on a friends car.

I noticed ages ago the vents have holes but oddly under the arch & in the engine bay its completely closed, it does look good but in my eyes those holes serves no purpose especially how Honda marketed them as a purpose

i havent yet heard spinning the two big fans of the radiator..... btw in this hot day when push my boost pressure is 1.2/1.3 bar with 32° under the sun of Italy !

surely that tegiwa bonnet with air vents help the engine, maybe I buy it in the future when my stock bonnet will be all hit by evil stones ...

Should have kept quiet as this issue has just effected me. Not too bothered as days with the ambient as high as today are pretty rare.

Just driven 20 miles home through heavy traffic and then as the roads cleared at a fairly rapid rate But not thrashing it by any means.
A couple of miles from home there are 3 roundabouts with dual carriageways between, so did my customary R+ mode and foot hard down in between them.
At higher revs when the yellow shift lights starting appearing there was a really noticable lack of boost and urgency. Same in every gear and it really felt quite stunted and the red gear change lights didn't appear anyway near as quickly. That frenetic acceleration a the top end just wasn't there.

Popped the bonnet when I pulled on the drive to vent some heat as everything was nuclear hot in the engine bay. The plastic on the airbox and air intake were too hot to hold your hand on.

As I'd read this thread I'm not too bothered as no warning lights came up and earlier in the journey it was fine. Seems like the car does peg things back in extremely high temps.
