The lads were round last night watching all the different track sessions. That was some moment you had into copse corner! There seems to be a bump just before the apex that unsettles the rear a little bit. Mine(the car an drivers arse) had a twitch at the same place, and there's a video online of another guy spinning into the barrier at that same spot. It's such a fast place to have a slide!
Ah I thought it was you. Yes us southerners love a clean car :p haha.
Yea corpse does make the rear end light. I think the entry is slightly off camber. That moment I had was me braking late as that Evo I overtook was catching me up on the start finish straight. Plus them new R888R's didn't get enough time to get some heat into them. I also ran my coilovers slightly softer to usual as I wasn't sure of where the dampness would be. But I went full erection second session and it handled better.
Must of been some trek for you guys to go home. I only live just over an hour away from silverstone!

Mate i went full erection just seeing you engine bay! Seriously though, very nice driving. When the rear did let go you did minimal counter steering and kept the foot in which is really hard to do when you are going 100 mph. How did you find the r888r's? I chickened out and got the regular r888's and they are miles better than the federal rs-r's i had before. They do take more warming up than the federals but the limits are much higher when warm, and the steering feel is nicer also.

Yea i live in a track wasteland, only track within 100 miles is knockhill which is good fun, but i think ill be going further a field when ever i can.

Quality mate, was watching the videos last night, and again found myself watching the Nurburg ones again. I managed to watch you on one of the straights in the real at Japfest and you were taking cars left right and centre. I also got a quick moment to look around the car in real life. for me, the wheels, brakes and bay look amazing, the wheels are proper naughty.

One question, as you know, i'm going to start doing some track days in mine, I saw one of the mods you did earlier in your build was added an oil cooler, in your opinion is the compulsory for anyone hitting the track? it's something i will be adding later on but didn't know if i could get away without one in my early days on the track. my budgets not quite there yet for one.

Awesome as usual mate.

I loved the R888R's. I've never really owned a track tyre so don't really know if a cheaper tyre would compare. Only thing I didn't do is let my tyre pressures down. My front tyres went up by 10 psi haha! Even so, the grip was great and had very little understeer.

Thanks for the comments again mate.
As for the oil cooler, I wouldn't say it's compulsory for track use. I haven't yet added any temperature gauges so don't really know how hot it's getting. I fitted one for more peace of mind as I drive the engine pretty hard. To begin with I didn't have one for a few track days. So to begin with you'll be fine. As you gain experience and drive harder it maybe worth considering.

Oh yea from road tyres straight to R888R is a huge step up in performance. I had similar problems with tyre pressures when i was running the federals, if you set them at 27 cold, they would go up to 36 or so hot. I now run nitrogen in the R888's and the pressures are much more stable. Automek has a machine that evacuates the tyre completely of air first before filling them with nitrogen, i'm sure there will be a tuner local to you who has similar kit.

Quick update. Had a track day at Snetterton on Thursday. Weather was perfect so was looking forward to a good day.
All signed on and ready to go. Also had the other half with me as she's coming to the Nordschleife and needed a taster on what track driving is like. Second session in and I'm shown the black flag. Noise level too high. I measured 96db on static and 95db on drive by. Limit there is 92db. After messing about, driving around to a few local garages I thought that was the end of my day. Luckily one of the organisers at Javelin had some spare universal exhaust baffles and one fitted perfect onto the back box. The day was saved! For future I'm going to try and find a decent insert for the exhaust to save my bacon. Some of the cheaper ones I've seen don't look great and look really restrictive.
Unfortunately I got no footage as they don't allow helmet cams. Forgot to set my timer up so no lap times either.
Other than noise, the car was faultless. The level of grip with this suspension set up and tyres is unbelievable. To the point the premier seats don't hold me in position enough and I'm nearly falling out the seat. My forearms hurt at the end of the day where I was trying to hold myself in position. In comparison to when I last went there on standard road tyres, my corner speeds were around 10-15mph faster!Seats and roll cage are now a priority. The brakes again are amazing. They get hot and feel like they loose their initial bite, but just press harder on the pedal and they really come into their own.
Not sure when my next track day will be. Probably not any before the Nordschleife in July. I've booked myself in with so many events in June/July. Various concerts, Le Mans, Goodwood, 3 days at F1 and probably more I've forgotten.
Anyway, only picture I took was of the exhaust. Enjoy....

Oh yea, I've got mount inserts in the front and rear. I have thought about different mounts but they're not going to make the car any faster. It'll just make my drive to the tracks more uncomfortable.

I did email the photographer for anymore photos and he sent me some previews but they're nothing special so probably won't bother buying them.

Wow this forum has gone quiet.
Not much recently has been going on with the car. I spent 4 days camping in Le Mans which was amazing. Goodwood FOS last week and I've got 3 days at Silverstone for the F1. But more importantly, Nürburgring is in a few weeks! I've got seats, harnesses ordered and possibly a rear roll cage to come. The car also needs an oil change both engine and gearbox and it's ready for the trip.
I'd love to get close to 8mins or even below 8mins as it doesn't appear to be done in an EP3. The car will be more than capable. It'll be down to the weather, traffic and more importantly my skills and balls.
I'll continue to update this although it looks like there's very little following on here...

I'll be following this mate, I'm liking the track focused builds as that is what I intend to do slowly and kid seat friendly as possible! Keep up the good work!

I'm also still here. Popping to the ring myself in 2-3 weeks. Won't be getting anywhere near 8 mins though [emoji3]

Nice. I think next year I might organise some track days up north. Take a few days off and book a hotel. Be good to experience some new tracks.

New seats and harnesses have arrived. I did want Schroth belts with ASM but Demon Tweeks only had one in stock and couldn't get another until late July. So settled for some Sparco belts. I suppose it's all matching.
Hoping the cage comes next week before the weekend. I've got SW Motorsport making me a rear cage.
