Lewis, how do you find the Carbotech pads in terms of dust and cleaning?
My Carbon Lorraines are about ready to be swapped out, but the dust is an ass to clean, and pretty corrosive to paint, so looking for something a little less harsh, but still keep great stopping power.

Err... Probably just as bad. Clean the car, 10 mins down the road and there's already dust on the wheels. Combine that with the heat you create on a track day, without wheel acids it's hard to get off. I don't think you'll find a high performance pad that doesn't give off loads of dust. I'm hoping that some wheel sealant on my new wheels will help the situation.

What compound of CL pads have you got? Debating going for some RC5+ now ive gone JRSC. Braking seems good atm with DS2500 all round so was going to wait until these were toasted to upgrade.

As for wheel sealant Poorboys is good stuff. When i got my PR 1.2s i gave them about 4 or 5 coats and it make life so muh easier for cleaning. Dont think it will stop brake dust being baked on though.

Yeah I know what you mean mate, same issue! It's no so much the dust for me, it's more the fact that the CL's have pretty much stained two sets of my wheels now with brake dust deposits left in the corners of the spokes.
Annoying thing is though, I've used Chemical Guys Wheel Guard (2-3 coats), but after using a wheel cleaner (Use Bilt Hamber at the mo), it seems to just remove the sealant straight off.

I did try putting some clear coated underseal on the wheels, I only done this on the inside of the rim because it made the finish look matte, which I didn't really want on the front face, but that seems to be working, for the inside at least.

I got the RC5+ compound, I bloody love them for performance, but like I said above, the deposits they leave in the corners of the spokes are nigh on impossible to remove. So was looking for something less harsh on the wheels.
They do squeel at low speeds, but after abusing them on track they quieten down

Yes I did. Didn't put up a photo of it before.

Well some goodies came in the post today.
First was the steering wheel. Trimmed in black alcantara with a red centre stripe. Managed to throw it on quick before it gets dark. Only takes a few mins to do.

Rocker cover also turned up. Looks great. I'll try and find some time to fit this at the weekend as I need to send them back my old cover.

Tyres turned up today. Standing water isn't going to be my friend anymore.
Image
Will mount the tyres onto the rims tomorrow. I'm hoping my wheel nuts turn up tomorrow as well so I can trial fit at the weekend. No doubt I'll need me mums hairdryer and a mallet to fettle the rear arches

Just read through all this! Great build mate! Those tyres look the business, for the dry anyway! Getting closer to decision on coilovers, it's looking like I might go for the meister r gt1s aswell.

Fitted the tyres to the rims. The tyres weigh more than the rims! New wheel nuts haven't arrived yet. Hoping they come Saturday morning so I can test fit. Cam cover will get fitted tomorrow as well.
No fancy pics of the tyres fitted to the rims. Just the wheels lobbed in the back of the daily

Rocker cover on. New gasket as well. Thought about doing valve clearances but I left my feeler gauges at work. Can't imagine they'll be out anyway. Only done them last summer.
Image
Wheel nuts turned up. Muteki steel nuts in blue.
Image
Weather has turned for the worse now so won't be fitting today. Bought some Autoglym wheel protector to stick on the wheels to hopefully keep the wheels looking good.

Managed to find a little time to stick the wheels on the motor. Really happy with the looks.
Rear arches are definitely going to need some work. I'll get the hammer and dolly out to get some clearance.
