Work colleague who races a Mk3 Golf let me have his old out of date TRS 6 point harnesses. I then adjusted/modified to make them 4 point and done a trial fit in my car.
There's a bit of an issue. I've got a bit of a fat neck and on the premier seats the harness holes in the back are close in the middle, combined with the 3 Inch wide belt caused some serious rubbing on my neck. So ideally I need to try a harness that's only 2 inch wide to see if it's more comfortable. If not it'll be new seat time.
Drop in baffled sump and oil cooler kit on order. Sort out brake cooling ducts when the front is off to fit the oil cooler. New exhaust manifold and 3 inch system ordered from solid fabrication. Next month I'll decide and order a new inlet manifold (most likely skunk2) and a larger throttle body. Then back up to TDI North for a retune. Hoping to make over 250bhp but more importantly lots more torque in the mid to high end.
Here's how the harness looked. No idea how people drive daily with these. I nearly lost the front end of my car a few times trying to pull out of junctions

Race exhaust manifold with a 3 inch collector and a 3 inch exhaust system. I'm hoping it isn't any louder than my current piper system but will unleash some more power.

Harnesses aren't best used with a reclining seat, still quite dangerous I'm led to believe.
I'm in the same boat as you, just trying to keep an eye out for a set of second hand buckets at a good price. Saying that though can pick up some sparco sprints for 160 a piece brand new.

I'm aware they're not the best with reclining seats. I spent more time fitting and removing them than I did driving around with them. I like the Recaro pole position seats in red but they're not very cheap.
Oil cooler came through the post this morning. 19 row Mocal cooler with a Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate. Clockwise drop in baffles should arrive this week and the exhaust is expected to turn up Thursday. I've got a busy Saturday coming up!

This arrived today. Beast!

Email from area motorsport saying the drop in baffles should arrive tomorrow. So should be all here ready to fit at the weekend.

Put on the exhaust tonight in a bit of a rush to free up some time tomorrow.
Fitment I'd give it 9/10. Manifold clearance on the roll bar is excellent front and rear. The only slight issue was I had to extend the lambda wiring slightly. There was a slight knock here and there over bumpy roads after driving hard. It may settle down as it gets a few heat cycles or may need slight adjustment. Nothing serious!
As for sound, it's a little more civilised than the piper system. The tone is far deeper.

Cracking read lewis! Really nice seeing the time and attention put into this build. I have a solid fab 3" on my JRSC and must say the quality is second to none. Bit loud for my liking but it's a weekend toy so put up with it.

Cheers! I keep getting people telling me to get some RPF1's. I have been tempted as MeisterR/Cyberspeed do them on 0% finance but I'm not a fan on buying stuff on tick.

Wowza wasn't aware of that. Know Tegiwa are now a stock list for them. Finance is okay providing you know you've got the bunce coming in. Never been a huge fan myself either

The drop in baffled sump, oil cooler and brake ducts are all fitted. I done the majority of it last weekend but ran out of time due to 'date night' with the girlfriend so finished off the little bits today.
Fitting the drop in baffled sump is easy. Slightly fiddly getting it back on. Issue you get is the dipstick hits the baffles so I just trimmed around 10mm off the bottom to solve the issue.


Then onto the oil cooler. I decided to route the pipes around the gearbox side. Then onto the cooler mounting. Due to having A/C there's not much space behind the front bumper unless you start hacking away at it which I didn't want to do as I want to keep it looking fairly OEM. I ended up just slightly bending the A/C condenser inwards and making up brackets to bolt onto the crash bar. Then welded studding to the bottom panel and using one of the mounts supplied with the cooler bolted that to the studding and cooler. The only thing I need now is just some reflective heat sleeve for the oil pipes that run by the exhaust manifold.




Finish off with the brake ducts. Fitted them to the bumper using countersink black bolts and then used ducting routed to the inner archers where I made a hole and fixed just using cable ties. I might buy a duct mount to neaten up the inner arch.

Bought lap time for the Nürburgring ring as the pricing is changing the day I get there so potentially could of been more expensive.
Booked into TDI North the day before I go (30th April) for a retune. I've been thinking on what inlet set up to go for and I'm probably just going to stick with the RBC. The added price of 70mm throttle and/or Skunk2/RRC and the small gains I would get isn't justifiable. From research, bigger throttle body and either Skunk2/RRC are only worth it if you've got a fairly high spec build i.e cams, ported head, higher compression.

RBC inlet, adaptor plate came through today. Other parts I ordered was new RPB discs, oil, oil filter and some heat insulation sleeving for the oil cooler pipes. Cheers Tegiwa!
Remembered the RBC needs a bung for a hole. Found a bung the right size, going to make up a small plate to bolt on top just to be sure it doesn't come out. Alternatively in time I might just get a local welder to tig up the hole.
Pads and tyres are left to buy and it'll be all go go go for the Nürburgring!

Then there was an issue with the RPB discs. I noticed that the cooling vane direction on the discs was wrong one one disc. As you can see in the photo below. The disc on the right is correct, the left one is wrong.

After a few emails to Tegiwa, they sent out another disc which is now correct. So thanks to Johnny at Tegiwa for sorting out the issue.

Did you not fancy going down drivers side with oil cooler hoses? Much easier than passenger side only hard bit it notching bodywork below headlight.

I like what you've done with the bottom bracket for the oil cooler looks really neat.
