After getting my replacement Nexus 5 it did make me miss how easy a new iPhone is to setup. Plug into iTunes and wait, 30mins later everything is as it should be.

On the Nexus I spent fecking ages downloading apps, updating apps, setting up launchers, widgets, ringtone, settings etc etc. Still don't think it's back to what my old one was.

Google needs a PC based phone management system IMO, so if I end up with a new phone I can just plug it in and get it exactly the way my old one was.

Yeah but it doesn't return your phone to exactly how it was!

I've never had it restore my phone with all the apps in their folders and the widgets on the relevant screens!

I must be doing something wrong. Evo, please explain how you do it?

They won't do that, but all the important stuff, contacts, WiFi details, email accounts, etc all restore via the Google details. Then only takes a few minutes to sort out customisation options which I don't mind as these get changes often by me anyway.

Anyway still rocking infinity battery, 24 hours on 100%.

I thought it did. Perhaps it's only specific to the stock Google launcher.

The other option could be that I keep a fairly default layout so I never even noticed

I agree. I've just smashed my screen on my N4 for the 4th or 5th time in two years, and every time it comes back I have to spend ages restoring all the bits and bobs to how they were. Google only seems to back up so much. Even tried 'my backup pro' and that didn't work for some reason.
