interested how your "solicitor" mate thinks you are entitled to your money back regardless assuming this is a private sale, trader yes but private seller without warranties or guarantees with a proper receipt i'm not sure. Only legal side to private sale is being the owner, car being as per title, be as per description and also be roadworthy ( legal to drive roadworthy not tyres are close to limit)

once you drive off thats your lot,

I take it you're in the legal profession seeing as you know better than this other solicitor?

Seller could have been a cock. i don't even know what you could have done if he had been tbh.

Luckily for you, he done a commendable thing and refunded you, even offering to fund toward the repair was good spirited of him. things like that can happen at any given time with cars and could be down to many different reasons for a failure to cause overheating and head gasket to go.

He could of played that card but again... seems like a good bloke to me.

Yeah very true blunty, still scooby hunting, they is one perfect one but it's over 6 hour drive away sadly so it's way too for far to travel for  I have been mega unlucky but like some say was lucky he gave me my money back without a fight, so if anyone can help find me a impreza wrx blobeye in blue [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]

Told you the 2.5 was weak and the head gasket is one of the main problems with it.the head studs stretch over time with boost hence blown gaskets.

Get a 2005/2006 widetrack blob eye.much better and stronger car/engine.

No that one doesn't do anything for me, I'm waiting for one to pop up as I have the money spitting in my account so just waiting now & I keep checking scoobynet, pistonheads, autotrader & eBay [smilie=karls_thumb.gif] I want one that got certain mods too like exhaust, induction kit, lowered & a remap running roughly 340bhp [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]
