Yes, however I would be put off with any software Sony bloat it with, previous Sony androids I tried were poor.

Never had one but fancy a change, this comes out about the time of my contract renewal so thinking this or the S5 seem quite similar really.

Anyone had their battery drain down on N5 in about 3 hours? Only happened today & when I looked in battery usage it was "mm-qcamera-daemon" that had used 51% of the battery. I Googled it & looks like it could be something to do with the latest Skype update & it accessing the camera whilst in standby. So I uninstalled Skype (for now) & "mm-qcamera-daemon" can no longer be seen in battery usage. Google say the issue will be included in the next maintenance update.

This happened ages ago hence why all phones now use microUSB. The Apple went and found a loophole so it was basically worthless.

MicroUSB should be used on everything mobile tbh. Annoying with micro and mini

Why do people keep saying charge and data at the end time. My phone charges whilst I'm developing and passing data.

It's not superior, it's just an overpriced unneeded standard.

chromecast question, is it basically a way to stream whatever you are doing on your phone/tablet to your tv? I have a samsung TV and samsung phone and i'm able to do that using the samsung "push app" on my phone, for youtube etc, so is that basically the same or am i missing something?

Not really. Take Plex for example, you can tell your Cc to stream whatever from Plex, but the Cc connects direct with Plex rather than through your phone.

Likewise with YT, Music, Netflix etc. I imagine now the sdk is out, there are going to be a lot of apps which can connect to Cc.

Not to mention it works around the world. Can't exactly take a TV with you

No its a superior cable. I'm an Android fan and know this. I can tell you're a software based person because you can't see the limitations of the USB design. Well ok then, I'll help you along shall I? Can you transmit video for instance? Ummmm no you can't.

Quite simply the mUSB is a failure in almost every way in comparison.

When you say transmit video, what circumstances. I can watch a video off my phone while it's charging, however wireless standards are now leading the way.
