People lie or bend the truth... Just sounds dangerous tuning an engine without the touch and smell of what is going on

What happens if you apply the (I guess ) unlocked map and things go bang???

What is your come back with these guys?

I am genuinely interested
Has this ever happened? Either at a dedicated tuner or e tuner?
With a dedicated live tuner if they lock the map and you have issues you go back

I am just asking what happens in this scenario ??
The maps aren't locked as such also if you have any problems you just let Vit know same way you would with the likes of TDI or CPL but the difference is Vit will get you to run a datalog and he will check it over and will look into what is wrong for you. Over the whole process i had 17 maps from start to finish as each new map was tweaked from the last until the car was perfect.

Im not getting into a slanging match because I know for a start certain people will come here claiming damages against reputations.

however if you do a little research and ask around you will find out quite quickly where the superiority in Flashpro knowledge and skill lies.

Just lol at "what happens if a map from Vit goes wrong?"

LOL

satan will be getting his skates on when that happens.
+1 this is what i did and Vits name kept coming up when it came to flashpro [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]

This. As I said, vit is three times cheaper. Save the money and buy your missus a slap up meal. Job done, may have some change for a few beers.

This is just one of the comments by one of the guys on there

"As far as I know his remarks are taken under consideration by Hondata in fixing up their software and firmware, same as new functionalities. He was I think the first beta tester of Hondata Traction Control. This guy is always willing to help, I did two full tunes (took me approximate 1 month per each tune) can't say a bad word on his work and his responsiveness, availability and of course HUGE knowledge not only in Honda engines."

there are literally thousands more if you care to search.

I've can't however find anything bad from anyone that is not satisfied with his tunes. I will keep looking though.

Google searches on terms like "vitviper, bad map" Vitviper poor mapping" "vitviper ruined/wrecked/destroyed my car" turns up only more positive threads stating how people are amazed and satisfied with their maps.

I guess it's just something you have to decide you want for yourself. I was doubtful that an etune could be comparable to a dyno tune, but I certainly don't regret getting mine done one bit.

There are more USA based comments as that's where VIT lives.

I'm not doubting places like TDI and CPL though, I would take my car there for mechanical stuff any day of the week (if VRS in coventry didnt exist). They are obvioulsy held in high regard for good reasons.

I just like to aware people on the benefits of ETune's for those that have travel issues or wish to save some money and still get a fantastic map.

More comments from guys on Civinfo

"Vit is very good, I spent over £1k with UK based tuners who weren't able to fix a problem with my car, he fixed it after I email!"

This is by Ash Rage who is selling the SC FN2 to mike on here. This is what he said about Vit

VitViper is a genius. Best Flashpro tuner on the planet IMO

I have had a few cals by him now, he is always very helpful and informative. I honestly beleive he knows Flashpro more than any other tuner.

When I was at a rolling road day the other week, I was talking to some guy with a mps that had got his maps done like what you boys have.

I'm not sure who it was but I'm sure it wasn't vit viper ( I'd remember that name)

He got the maps from some guy in America the same way as you say, ie data logging and altering various parameters.

His car went on the dyno and the power curve looked terrible and was all over the place....... Basically it was a wa.nk map

He then uploaded another map he had and ran it in the dyno again, so there is definagely downsides to that way of tuning.

Any good tuner who maps your car on a rolling road won't let your car leave until he's happy there's a good safe map on the car. I'd look at all the top Hondata mappers in England..... Tdi north/cpl/eurospec

You no if you visit the above hondata tuners they'll put a good map on the car.

If I did own another Honda I'd definitely look into getting a vit viper tune, only for basic n/a mods though

I wouldn't use him or e-tune for mapping in supercharges or turbo kits or crazy n/a builds...... Only the top tuners with dyno facilities for that IMHO

I know what ur saying, but when Vit tunes your car he runs ur data logs through his e-dyno to make sure your power curve runs smooth that's also how he tells were ur cars best Vtec engagement point is also. The difference in my car compared to when I ran the group n map is unbelievable as the power curve is so smooth when now going from low cam to high cam on the custom map.

Interesting points on all sides here

I think for known and tested mods it may be ok but how can he map for every eventuality without getting the positive calibrating feedback from and physical dyno?

When getting dyno pulls he asks that you do Full throttle pulls in 3rd gear on a flat road I suppose this is a bit like getting dyno pulls on a dyno. To be honest MJ it really is up to you what way you go with your tuning but as said by a few of us on here, he really is an amazing tuner and worth using for £120 also he still doesn't disagree that using a dyno isn't good but he can setup the car without it and with it.

Here what he does when using him to tune ur car

Type R - the ultimate tune

This tune includes a complete Wide Open Throttle (WOT) analysis and tune as well as a complete part throttle and knock analysis package. The WOT portion is similar to what is done at a dyno shop except with more revisions while the part throttle tuning is focused on zeroing Short Term Fuel Trims (STFT) which will not only improve WOT transitions but also inturn improve throttle response, performance, low end torque and fuel mileage.
Detailed list of items:

Includes Part throttle analysis
All Volumetric Efficiency tables analyzed and revised for all degrees and levels of vacuum
Short Term Fuel Trims analysis and smoothing
Knock table analysis and revision
Ignition analysis and revision
Lambda Overlay’s and Cam angle High/Low fueling
Cam Angles High and Low
Ignition Tables for all degrees
VE Tables analysis (WOT - MAP/SD) or MAF Cal Analysis (AFM)
Throttle Table analysis or revision for larger TB’s
VTEC Point is checked and revised based on Flow/Performance
VTEC Window + Pressure analysis and revision
WOT fueling and knock check.
Limiter Tables checked for errors and safety margins
Cold Start fueling and IAT graphing checked/revised if necessary.
Overview of potential errors or engine codes if present
Choice of Race (small margins) or Performance Map (enhanced margins)
Includes Re-tuning for 30 days
Includes Forced Induction Packages as well.
