I joined as a member in July 2012 to just browse other people's CTR's after seeing a couple on the road. Now I've finally gone and got my own, it's time I did my own progress thread.

After waiting for a few months for the perfect one to show up, I went and put a deposit on a Cosmic Grey CTR Premier Edition 55 plate last Saturday. Picking it up this week.

Spent a couple hours cleaning the whole interior today before the snow comes tomorrow

Mats looked clean at first but when I took them out, I found a few marks/stains. Hoovered & cleaned with woolite.

Whilst they were drying, I wiped the interior carpet & seats with a damp cloth, sprayed on the woolite solution, then wiped off any excess. Left the dehumidifier on for an hour to help dry it all out and stop everything staying wet overnight.



Cleaned and protected the interior plastic's and added a scented tree





Next job will be cleaning the engine bay

Does anyone know if suede shoe cleaner would be ok for cleaning the suede parts of the recaro's and rear seats?

I used woolite and watched this video. Didn't use it on the black suede parts, but have some suede shoe cleaner which i'll try sometime. I'm sure woolite wouldn't harm it anyway.

Wrapped my interior door handle trims today, as the silver had worn off the driver side handle. Instead of buying the £40 new replacements, I wrapped them and think it matches quite well

Bit of an update since I've had some free time.

Under the bonnet was getting a little dirty so used some gunk degreaser and detailer to quickly freshen it up a bit. Need to spend one day cleaning underneath the i-vtec cover but that can wait. Also fitted a K&N cold air kit which sounds amazing :yippee: and topped up fluids.

Later that day I went to meet my mate who's just got a Toyota corolla t sport. Had a few good runs, but its pretty good for a 1.8 and kept up. Not done any twisty country roads yet because i've been busy but then we'll see how good it is




Door Sills

Yesterday my Type R door sills from Andy arrived and they look superb. Definetly recommend people to get them.



Cleaned the plastic sills with gunk degreaser then simply stuck them on.

It's been a while since I last updated this, so here goes

Got sick of making new cd's every time I heard a new song I liked, so decided to go for a new headunit. After some research, decided to go for an Alpine CDE-174BT single din headunit, with: rear USB cable, hands free calls, bluetooth audio, aux adaptor, cd tray and illumination to match the dials. Also got the new ISO cable and a single din fascia from Autoleads.

The quality is so much better than the standard headunit and calls are really clear :WOOT

The fascia didn't exactly match the colour of the oem silver dash, but seems close enough. They also do a black fascia but would ruin the look. I've shown the colour difference below.





Fitting the headunit




Fitting the hands free cable was pretty easy. You can remove the fuse cover on the left of the driver's footwell, remove the furry pocket on the right of the driver's footwell, the side of the dash and the right pillar.
