Looks expensive, and you'll only get one with the console. Also I bet the battery won't be replaceable again, so you imagine the cost of replacements. Hopefully with the next gen, the current gen controllers will still be useable.

Sounds like they are going to have to drag Rich in to the next gen kicking and screaming.

 that's about right.

I recall jumping for glee when the last gen came along - not straight away as it was just re-hashed old gen stuff, updated with new looks. But once I saw Dead Rising I knew I had to take the jump from PS2 to X360 - it was a big sized leap in what the two consoles could offer. Sadly, that leap is not there just yet. The current gen can still pull off some marvellous things if the devs want it to.

There are lots of rumours, but since there are sets of the new hardware in the hands of developers, some of them might actually be true. On Kotaku it was said that the old controllers wouldn't be compatible because the new ones use a different signalling system. They also said:
We've also heard more about how the system apparently works and what it will be like to control it and play games on it, though we've not seen the unit ourselves. Our source even claims to have played some Durango games, describing the graphical leap from current-gen console gaming like going from playing Halo 2 on an original Xbox to playing Crysis on a powerful PC.
Which sounds like what it should be if you remember the jump in graphics from the original xbox to the 360.

There are images of the PS4 prototype controller. It has a touch screen on it. There goes compatibility out the window.

Wake up Sony. The ergonomics of that controller style went out the window when the average age of a gamer shot up 20 years

are they the same analogs as the 360 controller? Been ages since I held one so can't remember

They remind me of the analogs of the cheap unofficial controllers you could get for ps2

And mart, why fix something that isn't broken

Because it is broken, as Mart says, the ergonomics for the average gamer are rubbish.

No it's not

Most of the people who don't like/want an xbox is because of the pad, I didn't mind it but just goes to show there's nothing wrong with a playstation pad, unless your a keyboard and mouse fan

XBox Pad is light years better than the Pusstree pad.

That's personal opinion, I've had both and tbh I'm not bothered, I'd say I preferred the ps3 pad because I'm more used to it though ps1/ps2 era, I could quite happily do the same with the 360 controller if that's all I used

but yeah, I'm not interested in all this ps 'move' or kinect business, not if it starts to take over how you control anyway which that ps4 pad might assume with move been built in

+1 :bigthumb:

Hope the PS4 controllers aren't wired though when they do release the PS4. That's a big step backwards if they are. :salut:

I could say I'm more used to a PS pad through the same era. Problem is that was the best part of 20 years ago and my hands coincedently have grown since then but the pad hasn't.

Nah you must have little gay hands if holding the PS controller uses your natural grip
