As you all know im busy doing my research into getting a ctr and am a newbie to the honda scene

guys im confused with the hondata flashpro system.

from what i understand it costs around the £450 mark but then it has to be tuned to the car at another £400

is that strictly true or can you just buy the flashpro and do it yourself without a dyno tuning session?

to me as well you used to be able to just change the ecu, but has that all changed now?

just seems like a lot of money in total...
its cheaper than tuning an ep3 lol, its expensive yes, but also gives the best gains, bolt on mods are pretty useless without flashpro

yeah i agree bolt ons are not the way i want to go,

just im thinking if i get a fn2, remap it.. would it be worth the expense if i only plan to keep the car a year or so.

put a smile on my face for sure and you only live once. lol

maybe i answered my own question

I too am looking at flash pro for my fd2. The resale value of these are good, the only outlay is tuning like you say. You'll be able to re-coup most of the cost for the actual flash pro its self when you sell it on.

MateI told you already, if you dont want an expensive dyno tune, get in touch with Chris Stubbs or Vitviper, or Cullasse, they are damn good at tuning and the you will not notice the difference between a dyno tune.

It costs about £100 for a map.

Mine took, 4 revisions (standard engine.) You datalog 20 min drive and email the log to him, then he sends you a revised map, then repeat until the map is perfect.

My car is tuned exactly how i want it now. beastly. also bettermpg.

Vit viper- [email protected] widely regarded as the best flashpro tuner in the world

Chris stubbs - http://formularmotorsport.com/index.php ... t&Itemid=1

And you will find Cullasse on civinfo search his username.

you will not be dissapointed.

you havepm

some useful reading about Etunes.

The Group N map people refer to is a map that comes with the flashpro unit. you can upload it straight onto your car for a lower Vtec crossover. its ok but not as good as a custom tune.

Vit also has a load of free maps, which you can download onto your flashpro. make sure you select the right one for your mods. but it is much better to get acustom map specific to your car from him or chris.

Oh and if you buy a second handflashpro for gods sake make sure it is unlocked from the sellers car otherwiseit will be useless.

That's why in January am buying brand new from CPL at £550 as 2nd hand they mostly sell for £480 and i would rather be sure mines unlocked for the sake of £70. Also think i will use vitviper for a custom map as all i hear is good things about this guys mapping skills [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]

Lol mate it is a piece of piss.

check out flashprotuning.com for tutorials.

the flashpro comeswith easy to follow instructions anyway.

It is literally as easy as pluggin it into the car and hitting the upload map button.

and when you want to datalog, you plug it in and pressdatalog, then drive.

Its basically like a usb stick.
