Thanks for the welcomes.
No I'm not anyone except Talkingcars, it's the name I use everywhere except Faceache and twitter where it is Talkincarz because some company in America registered the former although they don't use it. The great thing about using 1 user name is people know who you are, regarless of what forum you are on - google your user name and see how many links come up.
Personally I've nothing against Hondas but they don't get me as excited as some, I prefer my MG's. No, I'm not poor, I just prefer spending my money on bricks and morter or the future than on rubber and paint and stuff. Besides, how else can you afford to buy 4 cars, all with different characters and still have change? Fancy a bit of roof down, jump in your S2000, fancy a long cruise, jump in your accord, fancy a bit of lines running, jump in your civic type R.................
I must admit I was a bit miffed when I read people having a dig at my explotes in the "hot hatch" tread on xpower.
Yes, I did have a V6 espace and used to wind up folks in cosworths, no, it was never as fast but it did show how poor the cosworths handling was. FYI I was given the espace so more cheap motoring.
Yes, I did once wind up an Evo 7 in my maestro T16 turbo, yes, he was faster but no, he couldn't get away. At the end of the day if it was a race on a track it isn't just the power of the car that wins, it's also the ability of the driver!
And don't knock the maestro, with the T16 turbo engine I've got a 200bhp car that weighs just about 1000kg and does 0-60 in under 7 and cost me less than £1500 to buy and build.
I'm not sure what the average age of a Civic type R owner is but I guess it's mid 20's so less than some of my kids, when you get to my age you realise there is more to life than a flash car.
And finally - MG's are for poor people - they always have been!
