Was a grand total.of 30 cars there so by time.youd done a run and got back to start you literaly went back on the start line
all day haha with huge brakes.inbetween everyone.managed 30+ runs
except.me....
I did 4 runs 2 i missed a gear others two were 14.1 and 14.2 ... my last run i was two.and half car lenghs in front of my mate who ran a a 14.0 went into 4th and my car died .... literaly shut off
after the whole day messing about with it we worked out a wire had been shorting on the body so bodged it back up to get me home :-/ wasnt best
pleased
should of got a high 13!!
Looking back.it was a blessing .in disguise as my.clutch is completely knackered and barely got me home.so a few.more runs id of destroyed it and not got home
new.clutch and fly wil be here this week.so going in june to see what she can run

should have aircon out before then to so a working clutch a lighter fly wheel and less weight should be usefull

Definately. Should be a nice addition, especially with the flywheel too.

There was a set of 15" wheels and slicks on ebay yesterday, went for £300. Kicking myself that I missed them.

yep.......

changed my inlet manifold from my stock one to an rbc with should free of a few more ponys :P
it took a fair bit of pursuading with an angle grinder to fit as it is a few inches longer as you can see from the before and after pics below

i wanted this to be done before racewars but couldnt get it mapped in time and its not wise to bounce of 9000 rpm when its running lean haha

Just getting started removing the fuel rail and the throttle body ready to remove the inlet manifold!

Inlet manifold off! time to get the butchery equipment out! i first of all roughly measured up the new inlet and began cutting with my hack saw haha and then bent and hammered the slam panel to shape ( pikey ftw! chris has pics of this!) after getting it to fit i then used grips to bend the slam panal back up so the smashed up bit was on top of the new inlet, i couldnt get angle grinder till next day so i couldnt do it properly at first so had to make do haha, after it was all in and working we hammered the slam panel down so the bonnet would fit and then moved the bonnet catch as id destroyed half the bits it bolted to haha,

the next day i got the angle grinder out and cut it to shape properly and it looks pretty neat now. just need some black rubber/foam to go around the edge to finish it off, its not sharp or jagged now its just silver and looks non oem haha when iv finished it to the un trained eye it should look like its not been changed :P
Image

the old inlet and the huge brackets that were a pain and a half to get of!
Image

nice new one and my new thermal gasket! new one doesnt need brackets yet its alot bigger haha ( weigh saving ftw)
Image

before : you can see the tiny inlet manifold has a gap between it and the slam panel:

Image

after: no gap and over 2inchs cut away

TDI North

Set of at 7 am very very tired and in much need of sleep but with the car running massivly lean due to the bigger inlet i wanted to take it steady so the drive took a while haha.
Got there just before the guys who work there, the car got strapped straight on and the mapping begun! It was errr stupidly loud haha so loud the video i took actualy distorted and all you can hear is noise... which is to be expected as the car was doing over a tonn haha

first few figures i saw were a bit disturbing... 160-170....
I later realised he had dropped the rev limit to 5k 6k etc as paul worked his way up the rev range :/ was rather worried

a good few hours later (1pm) and just over 1/4 of a tank of fuel later the numbers rose to 245 250 much more like it :P settling on 244 on the last run as the temps were getting rather high haha the car had been running for 5 hours straight :)

So rather happy with the result ill have to run it when the car is a bit cooler haha

240 is good enough for me! the car has changed massivly the vtec is alot lower and comes on stronger, more mid range torque aswell which always helps in a honda!

Graph will be uploaded later!

SANTA POD 26/5/12 RWYB

i went to santa pod today waiting on videos to upload atm

was fairly busy and i now look like a lobster but was a good day

managed to run a 13.7 @103 mph so very happy with it i reckon i could of done a 13.6 but the day was very very hot and didnt wanna keep pushing the car incase it decided to not want to get me home and the long ques put me of so i sat and watched the strip for the last 2 hours

last time i went i got a 14.1 with a dodgy clutch so the clutch and fly has made a great differance :P just need an LSD Final Drive and some semi slicks and ill be getting low 13s

i think thats everything

All the right mods going on here mate :salut:

But I can't help but worry, is that bonnet latch safe it looks like the slam panel is barely attached on the left hand side?
#3337577
Some good updates there, mines stripped to pretty much the same level with just the front seats / dash remaining now.

I guessed the weight at ~1150kg so glad to see that backed up.

13.7 is a decent time with just bolt-ons + no slippy diff on street tyres, looking forward to seeing the video!

next mods a 5.46 (or what ever the one about that is) final drive and an lsd and see how far i can go with the just bolt on mods and stret tyres before.i look at cams and slicks
