I was worried about my N+ but I've had them on since late last year and they're still rust free with minimal care

Great work Gus old fruit, what a surprise finding a pre clutch in your facelift. You'll have to let us know how the ACT clutch feels at the pedal as I haven't seen many people go for that option and wouldn't mind knowing what they are like.

Also good to see you giving the old girl some TLC and rust prevention also, they are starting to get to the age now where arches are going to start rotting on older less looked after examples...

I was only talking to a mate about your car the other day saying that most people would have given up and sold up after the bang; but you soldiered on and fixed her up so big Kudo's for that :salut:

Now stop being a fanny and get that dash removed, cut down and sound deadening gone, it's woth 8.6kg-ish

Terry - See if Buddyclub bothered to actually make a webpage with the actual spec of them (i.e Spring rates, inverted shocks, etc) and not just normal sales jargon pish, i would have bought them last year and saved the hassle that i got with they BC Racing DISASTERS! But nooooooo, they're too busy saying how pretty they look.


Carlos - Cheers! :bigthumb: Yea, it was a pleasant surprise. No harm done, mean's i now have a silky smooth facelift flywheel to match up to my new ACT clutch. It really is a good clutch aswell, a bit jumpy till you get used to it, but has a good bite. It's not heavy like the Exedy stage 1 was, it's nice and light like OEM and has a nice pop to the biting point. :bigthumb:

Tbh, everyone is jumping on the clean arch bandwagon, and i'm not normally one to follow a trend or wash the car. But i had a look underneath and it could really do with an under seal again. Plus the hammer chipped most of the paint off the rear arches when i rolled them.

Yes boss!! I'll get the dash out at some point. But the cage will have to come out as it's a dash dodger...... It's never ending.


Civic55 - Thanks mate! Na, i'm keeping them and maybe getting another couple of set's. Will be selling my black OEM wheels soon as i'm moving to 8" wheels. Means i can run ex-BTCC and WTCC slicks.

I got more toy's from Area. They're so pweeeetty!!




I went for the 75a shore kit. I wanted the 85a kit, but delivery was too long. Quite glad i went for the 75a's now as the vibrations are wild!! The whole car shakes and rattles no matter what RPM you're at, where as the inserts would stop above 1k RPM.
The engine is so planted now, there's just no rock or wheel hop at all.

Does anybody know what's with the massive heavy bolt at the front of the rear engine mount???? :scratch:




Next up was the oil lines. I ordered 67" Mocal line's, and took them back behind the exh mani heat sheild which i cut back and modified, then folded the edge to avoid rubbing. Then took them over the gear box and between the slam panel and rad.



Looks like ram horns.









I made a wee bracket and a 'P' clip to hold the line's off the gearbox workings and stop wear. Look's like a Star Treck badge.

That big fat bolt is nothing Gus it's from the back of the subframe and basically holds a a sort of block that mounts to a bracket on the frame. It seems to serve no purpose at all so I got rid of it.

Those mount's look very nice, I have the front Innovative mount and the other 3 are CPL billet versions. I'm dreading the vibrations, but on the up side when the missis is pestering for some sexy time I'll just tell her to sit in the car running - that'll shut her up

When vibra-technics did the development kit for mine i asked the same question about that bolt, apparently its there to stop certain vibrations and rattles at certain pitches and counter acts it, Phil said you find them all over in some cars think he said it was the convertible 3 series beamer that has a 4 and half kilo ballast under the roof to counteract the noise the roof makes when it rattles!

But yeah either way get rid of it

Carlos - The mounts are so wild! It just vibrates the whole car constantly!

Matt - Aaaahhhhhhh, that makes sence! I was racking my brains to think of a logical reason why there was a weight on it. :scratch: Think i'll fire it in the bin next time it's off. Bit of weight saving!
You won't be jealous of my Buddyclubs when you get your new coileys.

Kris - Yea, it holds the rear engine mount to the subframe. If you remove it you'll need to put another bolt in its place. Mine can just stay there for the now. :salut:
No problems mate. They're a perfect length aswell. Have you cut the heat shield to suit yet?

Just for reference Gus - The engine mounts do 'settle' down abit once there broken in ( Or you just don't notice the vibrations as much )
I remeber my reaction whenI first drove it after fitting the mounts
