Public Liability Insurance

As with all organised events/meets you must have Public Liability Insurance. With this event it is down the individual car clubs attending to purchase their own Public Liability Insurance cover.

Why do we need it

Under the rules and regulations of holding a Club Stand at Japfest we are required to hold a minimum of £1 million pounds in Public Liability Insurance cover, and have the necessary insurance against claims by third parties for fire, damage and all other risks.
You can check this information out on the official Japfest website or contact the organisers to confirm.

You will be pleased to know that Rebel Motorsport Club have the MSA's Public Liability cover for all events held under an MSA permit (or a Certificate of Exemption) has been increased from £30m to £40m for any one incident or accident.

The policy is under the name of Rebel Motorsport Club for all the events/meets we organise throughout the year.

You can check Rebel Motorsport Club is an MSA registered club by visiting the official MSA website and selecting clubs or contact the MSA to confirm.

Why do I have to register with Rebel Motorsport Club?

You might be asking the question well why do I have to register with another club to go on the CTRO stand? Remember this is a CTRO & RMC stand. You need to register with RMC for you and your car to be eligible for the liability insurance cover, as the policy is in the name of Rebel Motorsport Club and only covers RMC registered members.

Any information given to Rebel Motorsport Club is not passed on or will be used unless a claim is made and then information will be forwarded to the MSA governing body only.

Why do I have to pay an extra £1

CTRO & RMC are non profit making clubs but with any insurance we have to pay a fee. £1 is a very small price to pay knowing that you and your pride and joy are covered under liability insurance and without it you are not allowed to be showing your vehicle at the show under Japfests terms and conditions.

Some clubs might not charge because they are happy to risk your health and safety and your pride and joy by all means feel free to take that risk if you wish. Some clubs charges come out of annual subscription fees but if not an MSA approved club I would personal ask to see the insurance certificate.
