Yo Graeme bah I'm not going matey Im working unfortunately, there's Ment to be a great turn out. Ill be at tdi-north on Tuesday for tuning so no point going anyways lol hows your ctr comming on?

sweet build the rbc's do look alot better painted up i have powdercoated afew of them in differnt colours. just be carefull not to mark it when fitting it

ye I think it hugely improves the look of them as they can get a bit tatty. I'm dredding fitting it ill be modifying the slam panel to make sure it is well clear

thats one i have done, when i helpd my mate do his we got some rubber bead and ran it on the cut out section made it look soooooooooo much neater

Not done anything worth mentioning to the Ctr lately ! Just saving me pennies up at the Moment for a kpro an LSD and all the associated mods to go with them ! Hopefully have it all on in the new year !

I finally booked in at tdi-north for my rbc fitting and a full map,

I headed over there today and to get it done and my god what a massive difference the car pulls like a train my ctr made 250bhp and 173ftlbs.

I would like to that tdi-north for doing an awesome job I would highly recommended them for any work!

Finally got a dry night and i took the car for a spin and my god its awesome its even spinning in 2nd gear! so much more pull through the gears, im gutted i didnt get it done sooner

right next on the agenda oil pressure and temprature gauges im going o be using some pro sport gauges.

iv collected a few bits from my local merchants pendle power pipes they supply braided lines for high pressure air and oil so itll be adequte for what im going to use them for, the braided lines are crimped onto the fittings when i know the desired length.

i was going to run a sandwich plate but im quite put off by all the horry storries of oil filter comming loose on track days ect.....

firstly im going to sort the oil pressure sensor out im going to site it in the place of the oil pressure switch

now im confused do i have to put a tee piece in there to keep the oem sensor or do i just delete it?
also iv been told you shouldnt site your oil pressure sensor for the gauge directly in the block you should site it away so it doesnt snap from vibrations using the braided lines above where would be the best place to site it?

now the oil temp gauge

is it just a case of getting a adapter from the sump to the temp gauge? but how do you drain the oil for an oil chaneg take the sensor out everytime?

iv got the jist but these last few questions get answered i can crack on with it, if im totaly wrong please tellme a better way

Hi matey, got your pm.

For the oil pressure gauge all you need to do is mount your braided line directly into the back of the block. The fitting is a 1/8th bspt (british, standard, pipe, tapered) and will need a bit of Hondabond sealent on it's threads to seal well. Tighten it in to 18nm or 13ltlbs.

Now if you no longer want to use the oem low pressure sensor simply unplug it and put it aside. My Defi gauge sensors use a 1/8th NPT male thread (Which is very similar to 1/8th bspt but NOT the same), so the braided line I have has a male 1/8th BSPT fitting on one end (For the block) and a female 1/8th BSPT on the other, the T-piece that you use at the end of the braided line (If you wish to use the oem and an aftermarket sensor) needs to have a 1/8 BSPT male thread to screw into the female end of the braided line and then it needs a female bspt thread for the oem sensor and another female thread the right pitch / type for your gauge sendor unit (In my case it was a 1/8th npt suitable for Defi). You will also have to run an earth from the oem pressure sensor threaded part (A snug fitting ring connector works) to the car's body if you do want that stock oil light to work.

If you just want the gauge and are not bothered about the oem sensor then all you need is a braided line from the block directly to the sender unit, just make sure that the sendor is firmly attached to something solid, such as one of the 6mm holes on the firewall; you don't want any force being put on the union that is threaded into the block. Re-check your work regularly until you are satisfied everything is sealed up good.

Not sure what the threads etc are on the fittings you have, but it looks like you have a braided line of some sort (Hopefully 1/8bspt), a straight connector to go on the end and the oil pressure sender threads into that.

For your oil temp yes you just run a fitting in the sump and thread the tempreture sensor into that. My temp sensor has a small 6" flying lead with a plug on it, so I just unplug the sensor and remove the whole sump plug (including the sensor) at oil change. It's no big deal. Oh and make sure that the sump adaptor you get is stainless not brass, as Gus had a brass one snap off in his sump.....
