I have just fitted the quickshift kit but having no previous experience of an aftermarket air filter I need some help. When I accelerate hard everything seems loud and fine but if I let off really quickly I get a psssssssssst noise which sounds like excess air being released, is this normal :?:

I use one of the original bolt threads from the airbox to attach the metal plate yo but found it was too long and didnt go all the way!! i have used some washers to decrease the gap. Just scared that it will unscrew of by itself like my old induction for my Audi.
im going B&Q tomoz to get a new screw can anyone tell me the size?the width of the screw!! i know i sound dense!!

Please help.

that screw was a biach to fit! didnt go on straight and i flip up the tread!!
BUt its on now!!
Anyway a funny story!! i went out for a spin with the GF after i fitted it and in my test run i got stopped by the police!! he told me to slow down and said that it was slippery!

the sound is awsome!!!

Pretty well all CAIs produce that hum or whistle at low revs, due to the increasd air flow. You'll often get the same sound just by taking your airbox cover off too. I can't say I like the sound much, but it's nothing to worry about at all.

Nothing to worry about as i said, also metallic filters give a totally different noise to cotton.

The hum is quite annoying but in the end you just ignore it. I touched the Vtec this morning in Southampton High Street and the noise from the filter made everyone turn round as far as the eye could see
