- Can't get to the airbag screws so steering wheel's still on. Tool shopping in the morning for torx screwdrivers.
- Scraping the sound deadening out is now my new least favorite hangover job. :bad-words:
- One seat frame's in; needs drilling but no point until I get some side mounts and the new seats.
- Rear wiper is seized on; might just get hammered off tomorrow.
- Oil and bits from Opie haven't arrived.
- After disconnecting the battery the alarm started having a 'mare; no immobiliser but alarm going off while engine running. Solved this now at least.
- ...and, had to take two hours out to take the missus to the garden centre. :badrazz:

Certainly is!! RRP's £358.00 a seat!!!

As far as the advert says they're out of date and dirty. 99p starting so hopefully I just got a bargain.

those seats look awsome, if you can get a nice low seating postition it will be epic :bigthumb:

Those airbag screws are a bitch I had to buy a differnt torq bit too as mine wasnt long enough

My alarm used to do that when you reconnected the battery, lock the car with the fob and unlock it again and it was always fine again

That's my issue; I have bits and attachments for the ratchet but none were long enough to reach the screws. :bad-words: Any idea what size they are?

Re-connected the battery, unlocked, started and alarm went off. Stopped the car, flicked the fob and locked it again. All fine then oddly while I was admiring my new sticker on the back at 11am the next morning it went off. Half tempted to rip the alarm ECU out but looks like a few too many wires going in there not to affect something else.

Try dis-arming the interior sensors with the button on the dash if this works it means they are flip which is common

I cut the wires to mine, problem solved

Alarm still works fine barring the interior sensors

Right then chaps and chapettes, some actual progress rather than just buying stuff. :-D

Mr. Newannaive came over today to [s]help[/s] do pretty much all the work.

First little job was to change the front drop links as they were pretty fooked:

Image

New ones on, all shiny and again with everything on the car, a couple of quid from eBay. No more knocking from the front now.

Image

Also swapped out the plugs; didn't really need changing but the new NGK ones I bought were only £8 so did it anyway.

Image

Thought we'd have a go at getting the cam ladder off to reseal where there's a pretty steady oil leak. Front rocker cover off; look like standard cams. Would've been a nice surprise.

Image

After getting the timing belt cover off it was clear that without removing pulleys there's no chance of getting the cam housing off to reseal it. Worried about timing, it got cobbled back together until another mate can come over and do it for me.

While this was going on, the old man turned up from the seats they'd collected from sunny Weston for me. Really impressed. Lighter and a bit more supportive than the ones in there...if not as comfy. BARGAIN. :-D

Next job was the steering wheel. I'd been a bit of a mong last weekend in my hungover state and half tried, failed a bit and gave up. Tried the torx bits we had and they went into the airbag bolt ok. The boss wouldn't fit in the ignition cowl so that was taken off to accomodate it (less weight anyway).

Image

The steering wheel's out the Rallye (Sparco Ring so actually a pretty expensive wheel) and not 100% to my taste but a nice size if a little flat bottom chavvy. It'll do until I get hold of a Targa.

Last wee job was to get the rear wiper off. Seized on so Andy...got the saw:

£2 bung from eGay and job's a good'un. Quite heavy that wiper motor.

So, just a few shots of how it now stands:

Goat's a-hole:

Seat's after a bit of a clean; need to get some sidemounts ordered and fit them next weekend.

Still to do:

- Oil change, coolant and filters.
- Need a hard pipe for the air filter.
- Reseal Rocker cover and cam housing
- Fit Goodridge hoses and re-bleed with RBF600
- MOT, Tax and Insure.

O, and thanks again Andy. Much appreciated. :salut:
