The EP3 Filter Ram Charger arrived in a nice big box on yesterday so I began the install lastnight. I had a few minor adjustments to get the alignment right today and it is SUPERB. I only took it out for a quick trip last night and immediately felt improved throttle response.

I've just come back buzzing from a lunchtime thrash and I am astounded. I been down the CAI route with my last car. But this wow. The sound the increase the butt dyno feels as great :D 8-) The service from GruppeM has been nothing short of astounding in a world where so many suppliers forget you are their customer. They have been prompt with any information and help that i've needed.

Opening the box - beyond all the polystyrene wotsit packaging, the main carbon airbox was the star of the show. The detail and quality is lush, the additional parts needed - comprehensive and instructions in english which makes a change from high end japanese performance parts.

There was more involved on the install that I had thought but all the parts are there, and fit exceedingly well. I can't recommend GruppeM enough.

Yes it is alot of money but in my view Honda have done a good job with 100bhp per litre and to get a good overall gain - not just top end it is worth the expense. The service and quality has been second to none so gets my hearty recommendation.

I'll get some pictures up soon.

i got a baseline run done this week and will do another run next week purely to see the DIFFERENCE as comparing overall power values with others is too variable. I'm getting the full H&S cat back, manifold and race cat this weekend too so i'm hopping to see some good gains.

The sound is quite bike like in vtec. you don't really hear much above standard unless stationary (the beautiful induction sucking on it's own) 4500rpm the build in sound begins to a very raw growl, not a low roar/drone as with other systems. i've not heard it enough yet but hey it's all about the power it gives. i'll try and get some clips before i get the exhaust done.

I reckon it is the last word in CAIs - at £660. I felt that spending £500 on mugen and being disappointed because it is not carbon would have been a waste.

Tim, the GruppeM for the ATR has been quoted to me at £500, which is a bit cheaper than yours, so I'm pretty happy about that  :D

you get a new nearside windscreen panel to mount the scoop on. looks very subtle but nice.

i'll give the beast a wash and polish and get some pics up.

I took pics as i installed it but it was dark and a black car. doh.

I e-mailed GruppeM about this part a few weeks ago. They replied within 24 hours and answered all my questions in full. They sound like a very slick and professional company. The only disappointment was that they quoted me the wrong price (i.e. EK9 price) which is £200 cheaper than the EP3....I was gutted when I found out the mistake! Great product but not sure I can afford/justify £660. :(

Far from it - i've saved up and buy each part when i can rather than lots of cheaper parts. it takes longer but i love it.

A man with my kind of sense Tim 8) :D

Its much more fun and satisfying knowing that you are putting the best on your car bit by bit, rather than bolting on any old rubbish just for the sake of it 8)

I want one, but don't have 660 handy, not to mention that I'm concerned about insurance, warranty and affecting resale value. :(

So, how much extra insurance are you paying?
Did you get the ok from your dealership warranty-wise?
Do you think having the kit will increase or decrease resale value compared to standard?

more pictures are now up of the kit fitted and the scoop

http://www.japmobiles.com/gruppem/

I'm paying an extra £75 for the filter and H&S manifold, race cat and exhaust. Warrenty wise - as has been said before, if it is not the cause then it should be ok. It is a quality product and have faith in it not being the cause. GruppeM developed the Mugen filter for Mugen!

You will limit your market come resale - you can always put the OEM one back on. That said thought people will realise that you have gone to extra lengths by adding one of the best products available.

you'll also notice fuel consumption go up with an improved filter.

it'll give a nice noise though :D. anybody tried a piperx filter ? or do they not make them for the CTR yet.
