Before anyone says, im not starting this thread to hear over the top theories of mods and how much power they add etc etc and i understand that small changes in power dont equate to much in real workd driving but I was wondering whether the FN2's generally meet book power figures?

What are the general results people are getting when running their standard fn2's on rolling roads (again i know every rr is different and can over/under read)

My car history is with renault sports and pretty much every model of the clio range fails to meet book figures on average ie:

172's were closer to 165

182's nearer to 170

197's some read as low at 180

manifold porting and polishing, remaps and exhaust upgrades were all needed on the clios just to generally get the car to meet book figures :(

Do FN2's meet the quoted figures of 198bhp & 142lb/ft?

Do more seem to under perform / meet book figures or acheive higher than book figures?

Thanks

yea i got yours fella :-D

found this on civinfo from tdi north:

Most we see are between 208-212 bhp at fly.

Recently did a dyno day and 1 FN2 vs loads of EP3s. Stock EP3 made 198 vs stock FN2 made 208. Seems pretty much accepted they do read slightly higher and book figure was to keep it in a lower tax bracket.
Also explains why a full remap only gets couple bhp over stock ECU at peak where EP3s make a good 10bhp. Better mapped cars from the factory.

As any of our resident tuners will tell you. The FN2 has higher power figures from the factory than the EP3 did. It's evidently much more tuned out of the box than the EP3. This is also the reason why mapping doesn't bring out as much of a gain that has been seen on the EP3.
