OK, standard prices for the dates I plucked out of the sky. Hopefully we will be able to get some money off each of these.

Norfolk Line - Dover to Dunkirk
Depart 1000 Monday 14 June 2011. Return 2201 25 June 2011. Cost £54 return (including fuel charge of £12).

P&O Ferries - Dover to Calais
Depart 0940 Monday 14 June 2011. Return 2150 25 June 2011. Cost £85 return (plus £4 credit card fee).

Eurotunnel - Folkestone to Calais
Depart between 8am and 10am Monday 14 June 2011. Return between 8pm and 10pm 25 June 2011. Return £138.

Ok now fuel.
If we take 30MPG as an average between cars different levels of modification, and useage of VTEC y0.
2500 miles (as a top level based on Owls initial route) is roughly 85 Gallons.
Cost per litre of approx £1.25 (fuel is about the same at the moment in France, well ish).
1 Imperial gallon = 4.55 litres
85 gallons = 386.75 litres
Total £485 for fuel
Then add 2 or 3% for card transactions, etc.

You had to pick the dates of the Nurburgring 24H race

Just so you're aware, that will be running from 22nd-26th June. The track will be closed and there will be about 200,000 people there.
Sedge wrote:Then add 2 or 3% for card transactions, etc.
It's worthwhile getting a credit card that allows free foreign transactions. I have a Nationwide credit card for when I'm abroad.

Balls
Looking at Owls route we should pass there in the first week so hopefully avoid the event if people want to branch away, as mentioned.

Thanks for the Nationwide idea. I have looked on their site and while commission free there is a 1% charge by third parties which is passed on, so better than normal.
I will have to check what my current cards charge and see how much they rip per go...

Worth noting that it's a two hour crossing with Norfolkline so you land in France 3 hours after leaving Dover. Can be a pain if on a tight schedule.
