But through a mixture of confusion and minus 3 temperatures, i put the L bracket on the heat shield on facing upwards and forgot it could be rotated to mount to where it needed to go; had to go inside to thaw my hands out and searched for someone else's experience of fitting it.

Went on pretty quickly after i'd been made aware of my stupidity, even used the piece of foam and double sided tape to fix the inlet to the scuttle.

Truely comical induction roar, i love it.

Not sure if it's a tongue in cheek thing or if that's some sort of epic fail that's arose from someone's attempt at fitting the kit at some point.

The part that confused me was the L bracket that attatches the heat sheild to the gearbox at the side closest the engine. It was already attatched to my heat shield, and in the minus temperatures i didn't even think to try rotate the bracket and assumed that there was another way for the shield to fit.

Thanks to the heating in my flat and this how to i soon figured out the error of my ways and had it fitted in no time

my hero with this guide like! thank god i finally stumbled across it. cant wait to get my modded panel back and get it fitted.

one question though... Ihave a piece of rubber that came with my kit, approx 50cm's long? with a groove on the inside assuming so you can put it arround the edge of something? couldnt see it in your pics/ the guide. where should this go?

Cheers

As said above, where the induction kit tucks into the scuttle it's edge is where you fit the rubber, just keeps the edges safe.

As said above where does the piece of long rubber go is it the part where it meets up to the scuttle as I've got mine going round the base part of the carbon so when the metal clip goes on it don't crack it when tightening. :vconf:

Long piece of rubber  Do you mean the bit that is meant to wrap over the top of the kit that sticks out of the scuttle (the part sucking the air in) to protect the rim of the carbon.

Pictures would help mate as I don't really know what you mean.
