Come on then what traumatised al at JAE 2006 ? I gotta know now
A hurricane struck!

We had about 10 guys trying to hold down a marquee in really high winds, lashing rain and lightening was flashing across the sky. Everyone got soaked through and a few tents blew away. The marquee had to get dismantled really quickly before it turned into a parachute.

I think Al only had 1 pair of trainers so he had to put plastic bags inside them to stop his feet freezing. He also had to book into a hotel because his tent was wrecked ... something like that.

Mike that was 2007 which was a sunny day compared to what happened in 2006. Mind you in 2006 the severe weather only lasted a few hours.

Fair enough

Although Al did camp in 2007. Part of their tent was in a large puddle of water.

I'm sure Al camped in 2007

Wasn't 2007 at Peterborough and it hammered it down until Sunday and then finally brightened up when we were leaving.

Was this the year when Manda's car broke down on the way from NI?

Or have I lost the plot
2006 - Peterborough - Hammered it down on the Saturday and Al's tent got drenched.
2007 - Peterborough - Hammered it down all weekend apart from random intervals, Manda's car broke down because of the all the rain so got trailered down there.
2008 - Essex - No CTRO stand, so I went with the TRO lot. Nice and sunny all weekend.
2009 - Wicksteed Park - Nice and sunny all weekend
2010 - Wicksteed Park - who knows?

Joint CTRO and TRO stand ....

How well did that work?
It was a good weekend that, there were soo many people on our stand, just a shame we were hidden in a corner again, with a river running through our stand

My cheque is now in the post, despite my leave being cancelled at work. They've got four months to find cover for for three days

Now is it worth paying the £15 extra for a place on the stand? I assume you still have somewhere decent to park/camp regardless

Not sure whether you can camp without being on one of the car club stands.

There is car parking available but I suspect that this is for the day trippers

Thanks to k20a_Ed, cheque received.

I really have no idea. I imagine you have to park in the public parking area and take your tent to the "quiet camping area". Everywhere else on site will be pretty much full with car clubs and I don't imagine they'll take kindly to someone just parking up and camping on their stand.

The £15 isn't so much to pay for a stand space it's to cover the cost of booking the CTRO plot, hiring a marquee, hiring furniture, buying a bbq and coals etc.
