Yeah exactly the same like a faint grinding noise.sometimes got really bad in high gear at low revs.It rattled like a mofo.So i bit the bullet and gave Mr Honda dealer some of my hard earned cash to make my car all better again.Which he did.Its worth doing because when the bearing wears more and more if either shaft drop slightly out of line from where they should it could cause a whole world of pain for the car and your pocket.

My car makes the same annoying sound as well. Its only when i accelerate after 1500 rpm it makes the sound and it gets a faster. Its really weird. Im taking my car tgm fleet to have it checked out.

I have started to feel a slight vibration through the footwell so im thinking its the engine mounts.

Having it all looked at over the weekend.. and might even take it to honda for them to have a 'look at' and nothing else.

This is interesting.... I get vibration through the footwell whenever I get the noise.

No problem mate,Tell to mechanic to check the engine mounts,driveshafts bearing..heat shields..wish you luck!

Mechanic's my uncle so im sure we will sort it out in the end.

I will keep you all updated with snazzy pictures of everything aswell... (Basically that will be a filthy silver type R that you will all be ashamed in) LOL!

Hm.. :scratch: .One member vith same problem say..."i spoke to a mate who works for honda and he said even after replacement they will be making the same noise within a thoushand miles or so"..he also fitted ES engine mount inserts and the sound is still there..

Mine makes a similar noise but it works just fine so I ignore it.

im having that same problem when driving round about 30 mph.it sounds like a ring noise or whatever.is it something to do with a bearing in the gearbox??sorry i dont know much bout cars

It sounds like the noise I have. A couple of mechanic friends both said it was the thrust/clutch release bearing. Does the noise go away when you push the clutch pedal down? If so it's probably that.

N&N suggested I ignore mine and I am til I need new clutch!

if its the clutch release bearing??then how much would it cost to fix??is it a big job?

Anyone who has nasty bearing noises, contact Steve at Grinspeed if he hasn't PM'd you already!
He says he's done a lot of input shaft bearings (the one that rattles and grinds when in gear driving along) and he can do it for a surprisingly good price.

Yeah apparently he has done a few of them.

Grindy, rattly bearing noise in all gears which goes away when the clutch pedal is pressed down. he says he knows what it is and he can replace the bearing in 4 hours.

Give him ashout Marxx!
