Im hoping to fit my DC header, RBC manifold & get the car re-mapped soon, I know people going down the N/A tuning route then go onto add cams, valve springs, uprated oil pump then increase the rev limit to 10k. Im not looking to get N/A cams but would it be worth uprating the valve springs & oil pump to achieve a 10k rev limit? Would I still be making power up to 10k or is it only when your adding cams to that it becomes worth while?

In the furture I like the idea of going down the JRSC route, does anyone with JRSC run a 10k rev limit?

10k rev limit sounds like big money to me, you're asking a lot of an engine to rev to 10,000 times a minute!!

even more so to do it and keep the reliability!

Sounds immense doesnt it, having the engine doing 166complete rotations/cycles every second

Im trying to find the sticky but I cant, there is a massive write about tuning the K20, as far as I can remember to get an engine to a point where it can handle 10,000rpm your looking at spending £30K

i looked into it, thinking it would just be a case of uprated valves and springs, but it's not that simple!

i kinda gave up once parts started getting past 5 grand!!

saw a build somewhere for a 740hp evo that revved to 10k

u would need crazy cams and a really expensive custom made header like the ones from hytech, SSR, or Bruns stainless. built bottom and port and polished head. lots of money to achieve a number

just buy a better header like kidd racing header, some nice stage2 cams and a rev limit of 8800 real rpms (more or less 9200 in the rev counter). that will please your eyes enough

sorry, but you haven't a clue what you're talking about if you just pluck a rev limit from thin air and ask how to get to it

why do you want 10,000rpm? there's no need for it, race spec engines don't even rev that hard

Looks like theres alot more to it than what I thought
Thought if it was just a case of uprating springs & oil pump it would be worth while doing if it would make more power before it goes in for mapping.
thanks for the info

I think if you moved into the 10k area you would be looking at a possible engine rebuild every 5k miles of so..... it would be quite spectaular if you accidentally downshifted by mistake though.. I would pay to see that happen

i dont see what you will gain from revvin that hard to be fair mate its pointless most k20a engines make amazing power from superchargers and turbos on stock internals and last along time just get a gt35 turbo on it u will feel no need to rev hard then

There is no enjoyment in just slapping a gay turbo on and away you go. A turbo'd Honda is pointless on track.

Yes n/a is alot more expensive but it's also alot more envolving and enjoyable and there is no better sound than I high reving n/a engine snarling and growling away on tb's

people just think turbo is the be all and end all.
