i would have loved a Gruppe M.

But no way i would spend 600 quid + on one. So i resigned myself tot he fact i was'nt going to have one and even bouht a K&N typhoon this morning just so i could get the standard airbox off to send to Dave F to see if he could work some magic on the standard item. Anyone who knows much about BMW and Mini tunign will have heard of DAVE F and will know that his skill is in adapting the standard airboxes with K&N internals and smoothing of airways to create the best overall performance filter.

But since these copies have come up at just 300 i'll give it a go. Funny was'nt the original price of the Gruppe M about that price.

loks nice bit of kit, proof will be in the pudding

No it wasn't the original price, it was close to the price when CTRO members were given discount, I paid 360 for my Gruppe M straight from Japan.

TBH I would buy one asap because as soon as GM sue them for infringment of copyright for the design they will either come off the marked and be burnt in the carpark or go up in price to cover the royalties

It's been discussed mate, GM haven't patented/copyrighted their design.

This was confirmed by Tegiwa when they first discussed with me prior to them becoming registered traders.

I do listen and I do take stuff on board... GM may not hold a patent on their design (which I personally can't believe myself maybe they just spunked the 4000% profit margin on coke an hookers and forgot this part) but i can bet somewhere out there someone holds one on the general principle of having the intake via the scuttle.....

My statement was a not a 'definitive' it was a jovial 'what if' and should not have been taken anyother way..
