I don't know, never had the desire to search for one.
But I'm scared of biking these days, I've not rode one for years, never mind downhill

The last time I rode a bike on track was a weekend away with 2 mates. I remember watching my mate on off road tires try and take a S bend corner way too fast going between courses on road, hit a maybe 2ft high dry stone wall and do a Superman probably 20ft over a small farmers fence into the field.

It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen, but soon after I found out the joys of alcohol and smoking and never rode a bike since. That was 10+yrs ago.

Yeah an original demo 8 never liked it geometry was all wrong. he's now on a session88! Yeah sometimes it works out cheaper to buy a full bike and swap bits over as and when they break but i opted to buy top of the line gear and hope it lasts which it has thankfully. There's some serious cheap deals on old Iron horses these days but i guess its due to them going tits up! I ride the hard tail more these days but planning a trip to Switzerland in June so will abuse the bike then! My local is Glentress and Inners so if anyone comes up this way riding drop me a pm!

smartie wrote:Whats a full suss freeride MTB? Just the same as a full suss XC MTB but heavier?
a tough full suspension bike built for a combination of downhill and dirtjumping.

but yeah you're pretty much right! - although i prefer 'stronger' to 'heavier' !!

Very true! But with the strength unfortunately comes more weight, but as you mainly point the thing downhill its not a bad thing. It also gives you a lot more stability so you can steam through rock gardens and flat land big drops/ jumps.
