Right, one of the items on my long list of tidy-ups, is a total strip and repaint of my FN2's completely grotty rocker cover. I have the correct wrinkle-finish paint, the fine wire brushes for the dremmel, some medium coarse wet and dry and discs (180 and 240 grit), and a new rocker cover gasket. Is there anything I'm missing? Do I need to replace any gaskets around the coils, or will they be fine? Oh, and do I need high heat primer or etch? I used to work in a bodyshop, but I've never painted a high-heat item like this!
Also, while it's off, I was thinking about getting really involved inside it too, with a load of solvent, many rags, and a toothbrush. That shouldn't be a problem, should it? I figured a good spring clean can't really hurt!
