with regards to leg extension, have a look at a few pro's riding and you may be surprised how little they extend their legs

when it comes to pushing off, you need your clipped in foot at the top so you can get a good half stroke then need to be good at clipping in quickly
I know, just road cycling seems so boring to me, the only real reason i can see to do it is to increase fitness.

Give me dirt anyday.
Flying down a hill at 50mph+ over taking cars or just weaving through traffic in town - nothing boring about that!

Also Sacrificial Pawn if you dont want to get a new bike/ just want to go out on the road now and again just purchase some road tyres for your MTB - will make a HUGE difference to speed and makes things alot easier.

you're never going to get the adrenaline rush as with dirt riding but it beats going for a run to get fit

 trust me you do on the downhills. Crash on a mtb and you fall into nice soft mud. Get a car pull out on you while doing 50 on a road bike and thats pretty much game over.

No - should have had a full face on :badrazz: but overall would rather slide down a muddy hill then slide down a road.

I just had a quick look at Specialized Allez which have sold on ebay (go advanced search tick complete box) and you get people trying to sell my bike for £400 keeping in mind its 5 years old an a 2011 version is only £500!

There have however been a few 2010 ones sell for £350 which doesn't seem too bad, but overall they seem to hold their value well - guess its a good time to sell one being nice and sunny and all.

I don't, I just brick it, road bikes just feel so unstable compared to a mountain bike

Does look like a good one. 2011 allez double model i believe, good review on it here:

My guess it it will sell for £350-£400 though however he hasn't listed it very well + has low feedback so you may be onto a winner.

Can buy it new for £500 now as well so keep that in mind :bigthumb:

I just whack on a T-shirt, cycling shorts (rugby undershorts) and a set of running shorts.

My baggies literally cost me 4mph average speed over the commute. Plus a shite load of chaffing.

I said this. I then discovered the comfort of bib shorts and also jerseys with rear pockets to stash; phone, food etc. and I have not looked back.
