So we've never been to Knockhill and as it falls on August Bank Holiday we're thinking of going up for an extended weekend.

We'll be camping, because that's how we roll. Even in Scotland it should be warm at that time of year.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to camp? We're not fussed about the Knockhill camping because you have to leave your car elsewhere. The campsite we choose has to have a good toilet and shower block and not be too far from the track (30/40 minutes drive) and a 'leccy hookup would be nice; yeah 'camping'.

So far we've found http://www.riverside-caravanpark.co.uk/ which looks ok and http://www.lochhousefarmcaravanpark.co.uk/ but the website doesn't work.

Also if there is anytthing else to do in the area as we might go for a week or so.

http://www.witchescraig.co.uk/index.html about 30 mins away.
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/revie ... revid=7039 has good reviews and about 20/30 mins away.

Not stayed in either though.

Knockhill's pretty close to Edinburgh and Stirling so lots of things to see/do. If you don't want to drive into Edinburgh you could use the park and ride by the Forth Road Bridge. The Falkirk Wheel's worth a shout too.
Further afield is Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Probably some lovely campsites there too but beware the midgies!

Lol, every time i've been to a btcc meeting at knocky its poured down, knockhill has its own mini climate due to that hill it seems as the clouds just seem to gather around it, i've seen it splitting the tree's with sunshine five minutes away and yet you get to the track and it's snowed off
