Hiya,

With these cars getting on a bit in terms of years and miles. Would you still say that a 10w-50 oil is too thick for track use on an engine with 70K+ miles?

Cheers

Hi

Yes, a 10w-50 is a bit thick, unless the engine is heavily modified (something like 400bhp or more) or the engine is worn, leading to excessive oil consumption.

I would go for a 5w-40 in most Civics.

I just found that with the latest spec of Motul 300V 5W 40 the minimal oil consumption that I had with the previuos version is now zero :)
I check every 500 km and the level is full :salut:

(the car is 65.000 km EP3 , oil in the car for about 5000 km, a lot of vtec driving. AFR WOT 13.00 flatline, tuned to death)
