If I had 30k to spend, I can't possibly imagine why you would choose the new CTR over the Focus RS! They're both amazing cars, but the RS is a class above.
I totally agree, I'd have the new RS over the new CTR any day, the RS has so much more going for it.
Better chassis, better engine, better drive train, better looks! Faster and will hold value better!
Recalls all over the place. Early models all getting engine replacements!

An early RS is not a wise purchase at the moment.

No recalls at all. Updates to be done at service. That's all. Hand full of engine failures in early cars. Nowhere near as much of a problem as the hype would suggest.

Quickly turning into the worst RS ever, totally overhyped.
People's fascination with "Fast Fords" in this country is quite unbelievable.

I'm not a fan now, I've seen no end on the rd & all in that blue colour, it's sort of killed it for me, I regularly see a green mk2 RS & that has more presence on the rd

Back in the day, something like a Sierra was a quick car and could easily be made quicker. Cheaper and faster than an M3... in a straight line/on Southend sea front anyway.

Good argument going at work, that the best Ford ever made was the Transit Van!

A lot more than a hand full now it seems. The worrying thing for owners is how Ford are dealing with this issue.

I think that Ford will remain muted until the Mk3 production run is finished.
Their failure to face this head on is aided and abetted by a process of mass denial from owners unwilling to admit that being an early adopter was, in this case, a bad move.
