14 days to issue the notice of intended prosecution, but I think they only have to prove they issued it, not necessarily that you received it. If it takes longer due to you having a hire car, company car etc where youre not the registered keeper then they have longer

Either way, as you say, it's not applicable here as they've already served it, so I think the expiry time is 6 months for them to prosecute
