My car has been declared SORN for a while and I now haven't got any tax or insurance but I need to have an MOT before I can get insured. What do people do in this situation as this is the first time I've had a car SORN'd?

You can still get the car MOT'd. Pre book your appointment at a registered test centre and drive directly to the test centre at the alloted time and even if you get pulled you will be fine aslong as you explain should you get pulled or can evidence your claim if ANPR'd

Even without insurance? Cool if that's the case, my MOT garage is only about a mile away and I would only be driving straight there and back.

I admit I've never been asked for it but I've seen it stated by multiple companies that the car needs to have a valid MOT.
