Because their license limits numbers of cars on track at any one time, if you wanted open pit it would mean say 15 people paying for the circuit leading to circa £400 ea. For the day.

Point taken - all though not everyone would be out at the same time though (usually open pit lane days book twice the max number allowed out on track at any one time, as not every wants to go out at exactly the same time ... excluding first thing in the morning and first thing after lunch)

Our trackday ran much smoother this time compared to previous years. You can't do true open pit lane there so we ran sessions. It was like herding cats to begin with though.

40 cars split into 4x15mins per hour.
