Just wondering who is going to the ring over the bank holiday weekend. Me and a few mates are going over. Will be my first time but a couple of the others have been before.

If you're their look out for a black AE30 EP3 and a black M3.

Whats the break down then on costs ?

Ferry - £120
Accommodation - £300 each
Petrol - £300+
Lap of the ring - €11 (will be doing more than 1)
Travel insurance - £20
Euro breakdown cover - £35
Food - not sure

Probably other things I've missed off but you get the idea. Me and my mate will be going halfs on all those costs.

Once I've been I will make another thread with the breakdown of all the costs and some pics and vids.

Easter? I'm there.

One lap is €22, not €11. I was fortune last year to have a jahreskarte and did a couple of hundred laps so it worked out less than €4 a lap.
Ferry £120? Norfolkline is half the price of that.

I did see the ferry for that price but because I left it so late the prices went up. Bit annoyed tbh as my mates only paid £41 for the ferry because they booked it before Christmas.

Euro breakdown cover, what company do you have? the only one I know of that will recover you from 'de-restricted toll roads' are ADAC..

What hotel your staying in?

That's just upgrading my AA cover for the week. They won't recover me from the ring but will be useful if I breakdown on the way there or back.

I have ADAC cover. I'm staying at my mate's house, 5 mins from the track.

Mark you seem to know your stuff about the ring.

Have you got any advice or tips?

It's worth getting some passenger laps with more experienced guys. They can talk you through some lines and general safety.

Don't try to keep up with a local in their 120bhp mk2 Golf. Also don't assume because their German the driver you're following knows where they're going.

Stay away from Eifelfeuer and Jagermeister, I've lost days to that stuff.

Watch your speed on the roads. I know someone who got a €900 speeding fine last Easter when the police descended on the local area. I was 4kmph from getting banned on the spot in Belgium but instead ushered into a police van a relieved of a large sum of money.

My trackday at Spa-Francorchamps next Friday has now been cancelled so I'll be there from late morning on Friday.

Wouldn't be the first time it has snowed at Easter, the Eifel certainly has a unique microclimate.

It was manic on 'Car Friday', I only managed 12 laps, most of those in the evening once the majority had gone. I made up for it today with another 20ish so at this rate I should break even on my season ticket on Monday.

Marshals, as expected, were cracking down on cars. I saw TUV and police inspecting suspect cars yesterday. I've also had my season ticket checked twice in two days.
